Teething...

Hi Guys. I know I have been really MIA but work has been busy and my BIL is visiting. Congrats to TJ and Iback! JBDamon I am feeling your pain. LO has fallen to pieces. If I am home he wants to only be with me and he is up multiple times a night with teething pain. Last night he was up at 10:30, back to sleep quickly, then up at 11:45 until 2am. Tylenol cut the teething pain but then he was so overtired I had to rock him to sleep and he kept waking up when I put him down. And I am up at 5:30 to go to work. DH was beside himself seeing LO so upset. I hope this tooth comes through soon!!!

Re: Teething...

  • Welcome back, and thanks!  E is cutting her molars and has been up from 2-5 all weekend, then woke up at 4 for good this morning.  I'm so tired!
Do we have some sort of voodoo teething ring that'll help all these poor babies with their teeth so us poor mamas can sleep?

  • I'm in teething hell x2 with you all. DS2 will teethe fast and furious, but DS1's teeth take FOREVER!! I can feel and see the tooth for weeks before it breaks skin and he is so unhappy until it does. He just cut his first top tooth, but he is currently working on the second. It is SO close- like it is taunting us. I can handle one teething baby, but two is killing me :(. Add in the cold they both have and it is safe to say I don't foresee any sleep for at least another week. I don't get why it has to hurt so much- poor babies!!

Hope LO (and mama) get a break ASAP!! FX tonight goes well for you guys!

  • Oh Man do I feel your pain Kaf!!!! It's AWFUL. The worst thing over here is that the tooth isn't even showing signs of cutting yet. I"m slowly coming to grips with the fact that my child is going to be one of those babies who experiences early signs of teething for months on end :(

I bought the teething tablets but haven't tried them yet - they come highly reccomended if you want to check them out.

  • Teething bites (lame pun fully intended). Try ibuprofen instead of tylenol. Because ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, it seems to help with teething more than tylenol. I actually squeeze a few drops out of the syringe onto my finger and rub it directly on the gums for immediate relief before giving the rest of the dose orally. Someone on my BMB recommended that and it has been a lifesaver.

  • Thanks everyone. I hope everyone's LOs pop their teeth quickly! Ducky, my LO has a new lump of a tooth that I can feel under the gums and a very abrupt change in his behaviour. He has always been a drooling love to chew on things baby but now he is ALWAYS wanting to put something on that side of his mouth and then cries once its there.
