Sleep training help with twins please!

My son has been sleeping like CRAP lately and I am exhausted.  He is 15 months.  We have gotten into the bad habit of bringing him into our bed because he WILL wake his sister up.  Then it seems like he does acrobatics in our bed until 4 am.

I plan on doing the No-cry method but haven't had the energy to finish the book yet.  (it still involves a little crying)

My question is, how do I sleep train him when she is in the room?  She will NOT sleep through it and it seems cruel to make her cry too when she is trying to sleep.

Should I put her in a pack and play in our room for a week?  How did you guys sleep train 1 if the other twin is a good sleeper?

Re: Sleep training help with twins please!

  • My guys are still in two rooms - one in his room, the other in a crib in ours. I hate having him there, but I have one STTN and I one with pain associated with MSPI and food allergy and I just can't risk ruining the sleep of one for the other. We had a P and P forever and I finally broke down and got the crib. We're in it for the long run, it would seem!

    Best luck!

  • What my Sleep Lady trainer friend suggested was to put the better sleeper in a pack n play as the better sleeper will usually be more adaptable to sleeping in a new situation. And then do your modified CIO in the room.

I will also add I hate a noise machine going in my boys' room and my better sleeper *does* sleep through his brother's crying. And mine are 15 months too and one is getting molars and his sleep has gone all to hell again. Good luck!
