Hey Laides, after almost 2 years of lurking on this board I have finally decided to introduce myself and come out of hiding. A little about myself, I'm almost 35 (DOB Oct 6), I was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. Canada. I have 2 bio children: DS is 10 and DD is 14 months, I also have a 14 y/o SD who lives with us full time, all I can say is I'm not a fan of teenagers, I know some of you can relate.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
My husband and I have been together for 7 years and married for 2 of those, we have known each other since HS, so about 17-18 years. We both work for the federal government (yes feds).
My DD was born on July 1, so for us she is a Canada Day baby, which means she'll always have fireworks and a big party on her birthday. She is an amazing little girl, loves her books and balls.
I have no idea what else to type atm, I looking forward to participating more on this board.
PS: If my grammar, spelling or formatting is messed up I will apologize now, but will try to do my best to not screw it up too much.
Re: Lurker introduction
@hijoi - what took me so long is I can be shy but once I come out of my shell, I'm alot of fun (plus Im back at work after being a SAHM for 14 months, I have the time to type instead of just reading).
@ amilyn9785 - 3 interesting facts about me is I love cars, trashy celeb gossip, and dream of retiring in Hawaii.
@cbear2010 - thank you
@ summergirl1211 - I'm an HR/Finance manager for my Assistant Deputy Minister (basically I ensure everyone under her is doing everything the way they should in relation to HR and Finance and monitor that they are not overspending or hiring people without following the guidelines).
@hijinx - lol, no relation to Dan Quayle, the name was given to me by my ex sister by law, we are still close. It was a play on my first and last names that ended up to the Quebec french way of saying potato (I just englishsized it).
Don't worry about the fed part unless you are growing illegals crops or trying to poison our food. I work for Agriculture, so even if you are growing illegal crops our government is so lax on that stuff, they would just find a way to tax you on it.
Being back at work is ok, like most moms or dads, I would rather be at home with my kids going to the park, play groups, swimming, etc..., we are going through a big re-org and my friend who just came back from Mat leave and I have to compete for our jobs, 2 people, only room for 1, even though we don't do the same work, it's tough but we are maintaining a positive attitude.
Thank you, it really isn't that bad, we are both really qualified, that I know one of us will get a job somewhere else within the department, if not another government department. It'll just really sucks to leave my team and the work we do, as I truely do love my job.

I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."
