Stranger anxiety?

As I've recently posted my childcare situation fell apart and I'm on the hunt for a nanny . Last night we has a lovely woman come over that my family has known for awhile . She doesn't have experience with infants which I didn't love off the bat but she's very nice , warm and I know DS would be safe in her care ( plus I know she will clean while she's there -- added bonus !) DS was not liking her . She stayed about 3 hrs and every time I left the room he cried . He is 7 mos old and I know this is prime age for stranger anxiety but I'm wondering if its that or something more . I've never seen him like that he happily goes to anyone . We have another nanny coming over this weekend and will see how that goes , but should I prepare for this reaction with everyone ? And if so how do we get thru it? I was dying and so sad everytime he cried but I knew I had to try as let him get used to playing with her . ( or just the idea of someone new )

You're correct, it's the age. 7 months is when separation anxiety is prominent. So far you're doing everything right. Introduction in small periods to the caregiver until he become familiar with her. Also, practice at home with your family. You go into another room or allow him to crawl off on his own and wait a couple minutes before checking up.
ETA: you may have issues when you leave the house the first few times. I make sure to tell baby goodbye, give kisses and allow the nanny to show warmth towards him.
