DS started two weeks ago and it went well. I can't believe all the academic stuff he's doing in kindergarten! When I was in kindergarten, all I remember doing was playing with an indoor sandbox and making a ceramic whale! LOL!

I'm glad he's doing well! I remember feeling the same when mine started- I was amazed at what they do. Math and reading? I just don't recall it. I recall playing toys and then going down on the ground on our pretty colored mats for naps. And it was 1/2 day!
You'll notice it every year, that they're doing things we didn't do until much later. My DD is in 2nd grade and reading full chapter books. Books I probably read in 6th grade. And her math homework last night was definitely not what I did in 2nd grade. It makes me thrilled that our kids are capable of a lot more at younger ages. And also scary, because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to help her with homework once she reaches 4th grade, haha!
Re: "Kindergarten Mommies"...How did the first week go?
