October 2012 Moms

Holy crap it's go time!

Well ladies the interview went well and they offered me a job! I think I found the home daycare we want to go with...so the trentative plan is for me to work 3 days a week with Raylan in a home daycare near our house! Gah, hold my hand please! I'm not freaking out as much as I thought would...it's a lot to get my head around though. Also wondering for working moms, how do you dinner?

    congrats!
you will be fine. Simple dinners. Trader Joe's. Take out. Leftovers. Pasta.
esp if you only working 3 days a week, that's cake.

why are you crazy? I'd go crazy being a full time SAHM!
of course you can quit. And your baby will likely love daycare, mine does. LIke LOVES it.

  • Yay, congrats! Agree with the others, simple stuff. I was just going to add that we cook and eat after the girls go to bed, which is around 8. I only have a couple hours in the evening with them, and I don't want to spend it cooking.

Thanks! I guess as a sahm I've been surrounded by other sahm's and nobody else wants to work....cue mommy guilt for voluntarily choosing to do it.

  • Congrats! I'm sure your little man will like going to daycare and playing with the other kids, you will be fine! For dinner's the crock pot is my BFF during the week or I will make freezer meals on the weekends that I can just put in the oven.  You will have a routine down in no time, and you will still be a great mom even if you work part time!

  • Congrats - I think working part-time is the best of both worlds time for you and time for the kido.  Good luck!! and as you said if it is not working you can always quit.

Trader Joe's is AWESOME for stuff that is easy to make.  Take out of freezer, put in oven. Cheap, tasty, and relatively healthy.  I miss having one super close.

We are getting a trader joes in my town. I'm so excited.

Congrats lady! I went back to work out Of the house last month.
After being home 10 mos working remotely doing consultant work it wasnt bad at all returning. You will get a routine in no time.
For the last 10 Months I cooked everyday and made my sons food (i love to cOok) now that i head to the office 4 days a week and start my day at 7a- i cook meals for the week on Sunday and freeze/refrigerate. So easy

  • Congrats! That's great.  I go back part time in a few weeks and am starting to feel the anxiety.  We are doing a trial run leaving Olivia with my mom.  Normally, she's not really good with anyone but me or DH...we'll see how this goes.  I actually will feel more comfortable when I go full time and she goes to daycare.  I think trained professionals know how to deal with freaking out babies more than just loving family...

Peyton will do great, you'll do just fine and before you know it, you'll develop a new routine.
