Jackets for your children?
I just drop $60 on a winter coat for DD. it was reduced from $130 which is great but she will get at most one year wear out of it obviously.
Then there were the $30 rain boots, also on sale...
Curious to hear what other working moms spend?
Re: How much do you spend on...
That never even crossed my mind. Just because I can afford new doesn't mean I should pay for new right? I'm going to check out the consignment place.
Thanks for sharing. Clearly this is one area I need to scale back on
We are not so layering with a good sweatshirt would suffice where I am.
I just bought her a new winter coat for $30 on sale. It is Carter's. I easily spend $30-40 on a pair of shoes for her several times per year.

Winter coats? I think I bought one of those 3 in 1's from the children's place when we traveled to somewhere cold with DS1 for Christmas and paid $20 for it. Is that considered a winter coat??
Otherwise, we spend $10-$15 on a couple of hoodies- lol.
$50-$60. We live in Wisconsin, so winter jackets get a lot of wear. I don't mind spending money on a good jacket that DS will spend a lot of time in.
Last year he actually had two jackets from BabyGap. A snow jacket and a more stylish cold weather jacket.

We have a great consignment store near us that I'll hit up for a nice peacoat.
I just bought DS a winter coat off Zulily for $18.99. At this age - where he doesn't really play in the snow for hours at a time and I won't put the coat on him in the car since he's in a carseat - he will wear the coat minimally so $20-$25 is the max I would spend. But, I'll probably also spend about the same amount on a nice fleece zip up for him, which he will wear a lot more.
For the same reason, I'll probably get him a cheapo pair of rain boots and/or snow boots and snow pants. When he's older and will get more use out of these items, I'd probably invest a bit more in them.
Once they get to typical coats, we won't spend much. I will likely buy as much as possible at garage sales or thrift stores until we can't find ones to fit.
Since they cannot wear the typical puffy winter coats in their car seats, I want to avoid them as long as possible. I may just do a thin fleece jacket or pullover in the car that can be left on and the bulky jacket only for school and outside play time.
I'd probably be willing to spend up to $50 on the fleece jackets as I can buy a little big to hopefully get two years out of it for each of the boys.
