Worried.

I've never posted here before but I figure you ladies would be much more helpful in determining if this is worth worrying about than my DH.

I'm 24 weeks with twin boys. I feel like I could be leaking fluid. I'm not sure i went in a few days ago for the same thing but when I got there I didn't feel so wet down there and the test was neg. I don't wanna go in and feel stupid again but I know this isn't pee. It's watery slightly "milky" ish? and not as thick as "normal" discharge that I've had the whole time. It's doesn't really smell like anything either. I'm just unsure if its still normal. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

It sounds normal to me, but I couldn't tell you. If you are worried I would call your OB and ask them about it. Good luck!

It sounds normal to me. I had the same. However, if you have any doubts, call your doctor. They are there for you to ask questions.

It never hurts to call, even if you're afraid of being "that mom"....better safe than sorry, always.

Toward the end of my pregnancy I had some odd discharge as well....I thought it might be fluid b/c it was quite watery, but it turned out I had a yeast infection. So these sorts of things can happen as well. GL!

I think you should go in. I went in for leaking fluids, test came back negative. Two days later, I was put on hosital bed rest for dilation and still felt the same leaking, came back positive. At that point I was on my 11th week of bed rest for PTL and cerivcal shortening, but still.. better safe than sorry!

Ugh - who cares what strangers in an ER think of you? Please don't feel stupid for advocating for your own health, and that of your babies. No one else will. I would rather go to the ER to rule out what could be nothing, than not go and be worried and/or have it actually be something important.

I would definitely at least call your OB and see if you can see them right away, or if the OB tells you to head in to the ER, then at least it isn't even your decision to go to the ER.

Call your OB and see what they want you to do. When I was pregnant with my DS I went to the ER for some crazy pains...turned out to be gas!! Embarrassing to say the least but the peace of mind was worth it. Better safe than sorry...I have already called the on call OB in the middle of the night 3 times this pregnancy and I am only 28 weeks!

Everything PPs said. When in doubt, call. I was in every week starting at week 22, for one reason or another, and unfortunately I really *was* leaking fluid during the visit at 28 weeks.

Thanks everyone I saw my OB today and everything is fine but she did say anytime I think that I may have lost any fluid at all I should go in to the ER & Not to worry about if they think I'm crazy. Leaking is a big deal because i could get an infection.

Glad to hear everything is ok. I was going to ditto @yingyang124 and say absolutely call and never feel stupid!! I thought I lost my mucous plug at 21 weeks and the on call dr almost ripped my head off for even questioning whether to call. He said with twins, you never question. Turned out I was in ptl, and a Godsend that I called and got checked out or I never would have known! I'm glad all is well for you!!

I was worried I was leaking fluid and my MFM said it would be constantly leaking, like changing pads every few hours...turns out I just pee on myself

All kidding aside, I would ask again if you are worried...who cares if you look silly!

I went to the hospital twice for "leaking" both were false alarms. I don't know how much time you have left but you can get the amnicator qtip swab things online. They are not 100% but you can test and see if it comes up +. It's what they used on me when I went in addition to fluid checks and monitoring. Also ditto above, who cares what the ER triage peeps think, I'm positive they see it all the time. Better safe than sorry. It's no joke if you are leaking fluid and don't detect it.
