Baby names?

Whether currently TTC or already expecting I am just curious how many of you have baby names picked out? Linda and I have had a few picked out since before we started TTC...I know some people don't tell their names but I don't mind ;) We have chosen Ezra Christopher for a boy..and Lennon Joy for a girl!

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)

  • We have 2 definite girl's name complete with middle names. We love them both, but we know which one we will use first. Boy names are harder for us. We have a few that we like, although one name that I like as a middle name, my wife likes better as a first name... We will have to see. All of our names are variations of family names and a mixture of our two families. We probably won't share our names until late pregnancy.

  • Geez, Z and I had the hardest time coming up with a name for this baby.  Even though our first little one was only 13 weeks, we did choose to name him and chose Daniel Robert.  Daniel is a name that we both loved and can easily be pronounced in English and Spanish.  Robert is my dad's name and is my brother and nephew's middle name.  In honor of our first son, we knew from the beginning that we wanted to use Daniel as this baby's middle name.  Coming up with a first name has been a big challenge.  We both used a lot of vetoes.  Z likes a lot of traditional Spanish names, but I wanted a name that I could easily pronounce (correctly, that is).  But, we still have to consider the English/Spanish angle.  We have a name in mind that is our Plan A.  There is no Plan B, but I just don't think I will feel committed to it until I meet him.  So, stay tuned for that. :)

If we have a girl, I'm fairly confident of what her name will be, and last time we talked about it Z was on board.  And, I already picked out a name if we have another boy.  It was a name I was pushing for this one, and Z agreed that if we have another boy we can use it.

  • We do! And it's fun that I can tell you guys on here, since we are keeping it a secret from all our friends and family until he is born. Oliver Robert. Robert is my father's name.... And Oliver we both love. So unless he comes out and looks nothing like Oliver.... Then we have a few backups just in case

  • Lurking. @AXTmommas I've always liked the Spanish pronounciation of David.
  • We definitely have names picked that we love. We do have a full boys name, but waiver on a girl name. We won't be finding out gender when we do get pregnant, and we also won't be telling anyone the names. We are totally all for something that isn't a "top 10" name, but we are also not fans of the "made up" names or "let's spell our kid's name with 10 extra letters" either. :)

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.

  • I love love love Ezra!! J won't have it, so I will join ball.and.chain in that we will never be able to use it. :( Lennon is very unique for a girl. Super cool.

Since the only other two Seattle people on this board already had their babies, I'm free to share here. Actually, I've really never had a need to 'keep it a secret' - if someone wants to use our names, I'll be flattered :) and if you already had any of these picked out, please, be flattered :)!

ATM, our are Senara Louise for a girl, nn Sunny. Matilda is our other contender as of late... Louise is J's gramma's name. Senara is an old French name (J is 100% Cajun/of French descent) and it means "light." I'd prefer to spell Mathilda with the "h" but we don't want her to have to spell her name all the time (like poor Senara will have to)... :) We've called our baby-to-be "Sunny" for months now, so, that is likely it.

For a boy, Elliott - middle name likely Montgomery or Maxwell, and J was born on Maxwell AFB in Montgomery. We had the hardest time naming our son that we lost - and never really did settle on one for him. Elliot though was one that didn't feel right for him but we both loved. Otherwise, boy names have been rough for us!

J is convinced I will have a girl this time, so hopefully we won't have to worry about a boy name! But, Elliott will likely win. I love Jonah, but J won't have it :(.

Our criteria (being a Jennifer born in the 70's) is nothing in the top 50, nothing trending (oh, I loved the idea of Theo...then within 3 weeks like 5 newborn "Theo's" came in to J's coffeeshops) - no "yoo-neek" spellings, and ideally, something that sounds like how it's spelled, and not something everyone wants you to repeat. (Senara clearly breaks some of our own rules...).

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

It's been a long road to here...
    Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!
    June'12 - First RE Visit
    Sept. '12 - Tubes removed
    Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

  • We have our names picked :) for a girl Frankie Lee, we get mixed reactions with this as some love it and some think we are bong cruel giving her two boy names.

But lee is a family name and we both love Frankie and I've known two girl Frankie's so it seems so girly to me!

For a boy we are thinking Nelson Lee or Malachi Lee. I prefer Nelson and DP prefers Malachi so not sure who will win that one haha

I think Frankie is an adorable little girl's name. I also think it translates well when the kiddo is older, too! Super cute!

  • Our little girls name is Kenley and if we have a boy he will be Cal.  No middle names because both of our last name are our legal name so we didn't want 4 names for kiddos.
  • How funny! Some of my vetoed names are on here. I put up Lennon as a possible girl name and it was quickly vetoed. Sunny actually made our short list but ultimately we decided on a couple of other names as contenders. I will say that the girl names we have chosen are both considered gender neutral but you'll have I wait a couple o weeks for the big reveal! Another name I like for a girl that was nixed was Micah.

It has been so hard to find girl names for us!
