Anyone planning a BabyMoon??

All the things I read it talks about how mommy and daddy should plan a BabyMoon and get away somewhere during the second trimester. Since this is when we are feeling so much better. I know everyone's financial situation is different but is anyone planning on doing this??? If so where are you going or where do you want to go?

I want to go to Palm Springs, CA and just relax. And it's not very expensive. But Los Cabos, Mexico would be my dream place. Got married there and would love to go back before the baby.

  • This is my third pregnancy so we aren't planning a baby moon this time around, but for the first pregnancy we went to Yellowstone. In mid January. It was 20 degrees and snowing but I was 8 months pregnant so it actually felt wonderful!
  • Oh, I should add that we will be in Palm Springs for thanksgiving week. I don't know if it counts as a baby moon since both kids and my mother in law will be there... I'm looking forward to the cool weather. :)
  • We're planning to leave for Vegas on Halloween for a long weekend, and it will also coincide with our third wedding anniversary.

We are also going nov 9 for a week to Mexico :) not booked yet as we cannot decide on where, I always heard the east side is better, cancan/riviera maya but you think Los Cabos is nice? Maybe we should just go there as it is much easier to find resorts there!!!
I went to Playa Del Carmen for my wedding and it was wonderful. It's about an hour south of Cancan. We stayed at a Rui and it was all inclusive. Best vacation ever! Everyone liked touring the Mayan Ruins too.

  • We had our wedding in Riviera maya. Mex and that is where we would like to go back to in oct (30th bday/ baby moon) A girl can dream right?!?
  • We don't really have the time off of work to go anywhere far. So we are planning a weekend in Portland, ME.  It's only about 3 hours away and we love the city.  We'll be going at the end of Oct. for my DH's birthday weekend/babymoon.  It will be nice to just get away for a few days and relax.

  • In January, we are going to Switzerland for a week. I'll be right about 30 weeks and the doc says that unless something crazy happens, I should have no problem going. Woohoo!

  • We would like to go somewhere, but I don't see it happening at this point. We might just go on a weekend trip or something. I am trying to save my vacation time for when LO arrives.

  • Didn't do a babymoon with #1 and we're not doing one this time around either.  When DS was 16 months old, we took a long weekend trip to San Francisco and it was amazing.  I'd like to do something like that again.  Great reward for all that we went through the first year!

  • I really want too! I can't seem to get DH on board. He's in the mind set of "we should save and not go on a trip", but honestly, we would have no problem financially going. It would have to be over xmas break bc he's a teacher tho, so I'm thinking a couple days in a cabin or something low key like that.

  • We will most likely be going on a cruise towards the end of the second trimester. We have a lot going on in November so the first two weeks of December are what we have available so far.

  • We are probably going camping at the beginning of October as long as I feel well enough to sleep on the ground or an air mattress. We are both super-outdoorsy, and we are thinking about a kayak-in site on a lake in northern WI. Been there a few times and loveee it. I do need to be careful about not over-packing with heavy gear...gotta let DH be the donkey this time around ;) If I'm not up for hardcore camping, we might get a cabin in northern MI and either hike or check out some fall festivals.    I would also LOVE to go back to St. Lucia. We stayed at Sandals, an all-inclusive, for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. The best part was the swim-up bars though, so that will be a trip for after baby arrives!

  • Going to a resort in Reno in November for a long weekend. Will be nice to relax before the rush of the holidays hit. I can't wait to relax with DH & get my mama mia massage:)
  • Our anniversary is in January, so we'll probably do an anniversary/babymoon trip.

You're about as far along as I am...Just make sure you check with the cruise line that you're ok to go!  We were considering a cruise in mid-November, but I'd be past 24 weeks by the time the cruise ends, and they don't allow you to go if you're too far along in your pregnancy!
  • We're already going on a cruise for New Years - annual family thing- so that'll be our big vacation.

We are planning a long weekend in Seattle in November. A babymoon/anniversary trip. We live in CO (sunshine!) so the gray won't bother us much. Plus I've never been and hubby hasn't been since he was a kid. And I'm searching for a good place to get a massage :)
  • We booked a trip to Belgium and Netherlands for our anniversary in November before we found out I was pregnant. So that may be our baby moon too. Unless I plan another last minute trip on a weekend because I wanna save my vacation time for when the baby comes.

  • We plan to go visit my parents in Tennessee for a long weekend. It's not a warm sunny beach but it will do.

  • We are taking our son to Disney World in November. We started planning this trip last year and now it will be a babymoon also!
  • We have just decided to take a long weekend in October to my parents in the mountains near Vail and Snowmass!!! So excited. Trees will be changing colors so we are going to fly to Denver and take the scenic drive through the mountains. Do some relaxing and go to the hot springs.

  • No serious BabyMoon for  us (unless somehow DH isn't deployed and I can get out of work for a week) but we are definitely looking into doing a B&B weekend and getting massages and other spoils

  • I used to dream about what we would do for a babymoon pre-pregnancy, but now that it's here our plans are a little different. I thought a trip to some place tropical and sporting a bikini with my baby bump would be awesome. We've decided, instead, to take a weekend trip to Asheville, NC in the beginning of November to a really nice resort/spa and get massages, play some golf (ahem, or WATCH my husband play golf!), and eat some good food. The leaves will be changing and the mountains will be nice and cool that time of year, so we might go on a picnic or check out The Biltmore at Christmas, which I've never done. We curbed the idea of a big trip because we've already had two vacations this year and really can't afford to take another (financially and being away from work for another week). I'm still very excited though!!! I must say, all of these tropical plans you ladies have do make me a little jealous! ;)

  • I have a 14 mo old now so probably no babymoon for us this time, but last year in April we went to St. John and I have never seen beaches SO beautiful. It was perfectly romantic and I just lay my beached whale self in the sand ALL. DAY. LONG, and swam in the aqua clear water. I highly recommend it. <3

  • We had a lot of trips planned before we found out I was pregnant, so now we're even more excited that we get to go before the baby arrives! We're going for the weekend to Bear Lake for my birthday (end of Sept), to Napa in November for 3 days for a wedding, and then Disneyworld in Dec with some great friends and their DS! We can't wait!

  • Costa Rica in December!! It started as our honeymoon and we're so excited to call it our baby moon as well!!
  • We are hoping to do Cabo in December. We are very fortunate to have friends who own an awesome home there. The only issue is coordinating our time off. I have a limited number of sick days since I need to cash in some for the maternity leave. Luckily I work in a school so there are several breaks built in. Fingers crossed it all works out!

  • We are going to San Francisco and Yosemite next week! My husband and I worked for a non-profit and he got let go in a not so nice way. I cancelled a flight that the organization paid for back in July (I was leading a team to the Dominican Republic) when I found out that I was pregnant, so I had a $850 credit on my account that was non-refundable/transferable. We figured since the organization we worked for screwed us over, might as well get a vacation out of them :) We now live in Florida and California was the furthest away we could get with my credit. We also never really got a honeymoon and this is our first vacation alone in four years of marriage. So excited!
