Hi all, I'm trying to step our 10 week old baby up from 4 oz. to 6 oz. of formula so he's not needing to eat every hour and a half to two hours, but have had some difficulty in getting his belly to cooperate. Two weeks ago we tried and he vomited and last week he just spit up like it's too much food. I'm trying again this week... This morning, we took a break every 2 ounces to burp, feeding him 4 oz., stopped for a half hour and then fed the last 2 oz. It seemed to work, but I wanted to find out what other moms have done when moving up to more formula.
Re: 4 oz. to 6 oz.
If your baby is eating every 2 hrs I am going to assume that either they are sleeping through the night (and I mean ALL NIGHT) or they are not actually eating 4 oz every 2 hrs. Otherwise you are saying your 10 week old is eating 48 oz? Something is off. If your baby is indeed sleeping ALL the way through the night then yeah they need to eat more during the day.
How much is he eating every day right now?

Worst idea ever. Just feed him when's hungry until he's full! Feedings will space on their own when he's ready to take more at a time.
I said her kids were overweight. They were, in fact, overweight. They aren't any longer, and I hope they don't have food issues.

I would suggest that this suggestion is ignored.
