I have a neighbor kid this morning and tomorrow and (gasp!) turned on cartoons for him since my DD's are still sleeping.
Do you sensor which cartoons they watch? At what age do you stop?
DD1 is almost 8 and wants to watch SpongeBob which I am not a fan of. Occasionally it will come on in the afternoon. It was an option this morning and I turned on Deigo instead. Neighbor boy is almost 7.

We only do PBS, but my kid is 2. I do sensor the nieces (age 9 and 10) too. We don't allow SpongeBob. I've watched it a few times and feel it's very, very inappropriate. I think you do what works for your family, even if that means sensoring right up until they move out. Smurfs and the Simpsons was forbidden at both my house and my DH's house as kids! And Southpark later when it aired - I was in high school and it was off limits.
DD will be 3 on Monday. She doesn't watch tv.
