Mino: Korean boy name opinions?

DH and I love the name Mino for a son. We are Korean and it is a pretty common name for boys in Korea.

The only issue is it sounds like "me no" as in "me no likey". And we don't want to set up our kid for painful playground experiences.

Am I being too paranoid?

I don't think you should worry too much about "me no."
If you were thinking about Duck or Dong, then of course that would be a different story!

I really like Mino, it is easy to spell and say and if you two love it, then go for it!

DH uses a nn that sounds like Mino.  He says he's never been made fun of for it.

    I'd use it.

My dh is Korean and we struggled with finding a Korean name that fit in the US.. I think Mino is interesting and fun for a child but I don't know that it will grow into an adult well.

Other options could be Yong or Bae. We named our son Ansan like the city.
