So...have any of you seen Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood? I love that show! It has some great techniques and songs for teaching important little lessons.

Anyway, there's an episode about learning to listen to your body and go to the bathroom when you need to instead of waiting until its too late. DS just saw this episode and has been asking to go to the potty all the time since then. I indulge him and take off his shorts/diaper, sit him on the potty (he doesn't do anything), then flush it and wash his hands. I also have been singing the Daniel Tiger song with him at the same time, because he really loves it; "If you have to go potty, stop and go right away. Flush and wash and be on your way!"
DS did this a bunch yesterday and once today, but not once had he actually used the potty. DH asked me if this has anything to do with him starting to show a natural interest in the potty...like for potty training. I laughed and told him I didn't think so, and told him about the show.
But this has me thinking about potty training. DS isn't even 2, so we're in noooo rush. What signs did your LOs show when they were ready to begin potty training? What did you do to encourage them? Thanks!
