Can I vent?

So as I'm putting Bishop down for his only nap today at lunch I notice a car in my drive that I don't recognize.  After a few more minutes I look out the window again and the car is backing up.  At this point I still have a half sleep LO in my arms (I rock Bishop to sleep, bad mama, I know).  The people in the car see me, pull up again and the people get out.  Its DHs uncle and cousin and they're heading to my door.  Of course Bishop wakes up and I tell them I can't talk cause I'm putting B to sleep.  They say they just wanted to let me know they'll be parking in my driveway at 1230pm and 330pm from now on (I live near an elementary school).  Fine, whatever.  But now Bishops awake and even though I tried rocking him for another 20 minutes, he's lost that sleepy feeling and is so effing cranky.

Maybe I'm being irrational but I'm so annoyed!!!  I look forward to my midday break when B naps and now he is cranky as hell.  And I don't mind them parking in my driveway since it'll only be for 10 minutes tops while they drop their kids off but they didn't even ask beforehand.  And they didn't even ask now, they told me they were going to park there from now on.  UGH.  Now I'm the cranky one.  I really need a sign for the front door that says "Do not disturb, baby sleeping inside" or whatever.

Re: Can I vent?

  • That is very annoying. I would think they would have at least called you earlier that day or the day before and asked if that was ok.

I get so irritated when family acts rude just because they think they can get away with it because you are family.

  • Ugh, so annoying!  Family can be so inconsiderate sometimes.

I've always wanted to put up one of those signs!

  • Yes, my MIL and SIL still ring the doorbell everytime they come over.  I feel like they want to intentionally wake up DD so they can play with her.  UGH  Even better they ring the door and let themselves in (if the door is unlocked)

  • Thanks guys for the sorrys!  I've cooled off and feel better after venting here.  I know my boys are older already but I'm still considering getting one of those signs!  lol

  • I have signs by each of my doors that say- not to ring the door bell between certain times- when the boys are typically napping so the dogs don't go all crazy and wake them.  And I don't care WHO you are if you ring my bell during that time I get snippy.
