I planned to start sleep training tonight but I've chickened out! I know she's ready, I know she needs it. but I can't do it(not tonight). DD used to STTN but now she wakes up 1-2 times. My goal is also to get her to fall asleep on her own. I'm gonna need to suck it up and do it soon though.
Re: chickening out
Then the house gets quiet and all the other kids are asleep. I nurse DD2 and realize I haven't really had a chance to snuggle her uninterrupted all day, so I end up just letting her sleep in my lap until I go to bed. I'm such a sucker.
Every once in a while there will be an evening where I want to do something fun with DH and the baby in my lap sort of puts a damper on things. I think about heading back to the crib and just putting her in there to fuss for a while, but I can't do it. My heart breaks thinking about it.
It's a lot easier the first time he goes down.
But I would say I was on the luckier side of sleep training in that it seemed to work very fast. It can be a process, and if it's one that you're just not ready for, then that's that. Don't beat yourself up about it one way or the other. If you do it, it's going to be ok. If you don't, it still will be.
