How does LO eat eggs?

DD does not like scrambled eggs. I've tried several times, even with shredded cheese on top (which she LOVES) and she won't touch it. I also made them with lots of milk so they'd be creamier and softer. Nope.

Do any of your LO's like fried or hard boiled? It's fine if she just doesn't like eggs, but I want to at least give it an honest try.

Re: How does LO eat eggs?

  • She has eaten some of my fried egg before, but loves them scrambled, so we just stick to that.

  • Scrambled and hard boiled are all we have tried.  She loves them all BUT she loves all food.

  • what about doing a scramble with some veggies? peppers, onions, avocado etc? Make the veggies bite size and just enough egg to coat them?

  • You can try a quiche. My kid loves eggs in all forms.

  • Ditto French toast. We also had recent success with a mayo-free egg salad (I hate mayo). It was made with ricotta and plain yogurt. She went crazy for it (but she does love her scrambled eggs.)
  • DS didn't like eggs for the longest time then one day he decided he wanted eggs while we were eating and has eaten scrambled eggs since. He has done that with several things, so if all else fails wait and try again in a mount or two.

  • I do "scrambled" but instead of soft little bits I cook it into a sort of patty and cut it up so she eats it like strips.  Like you were making an egg for a breakfast sandwich.

And she, you know, pitches it all over the floor a little less.

  • We've done hard-boiled. And while neither one of my kids likes scrambled eggs very much, with or without cheese, they both love a fritata, with cheese and veggies. Go figure.

  • Ds1 never really liked eggs until he was about 2 and could "help" crack eggs and grate some cheese. Ds2 eats scrambled or omelets. Now I want to try a quiche though....

  • My kid used to eat scrambled eggs with cheese every morning. Now he refuses. So I have no clue. I tried an omelette once with veggies and he wouldn't touch it. So I'm no help!

  • DD isn't a fan either and I can only try them on the weekends because I don't have time to cook eggs during the week.  I'm just going to try to keep offering and will maybe try adding cheese or doing quiche like a few others suggested here.

  • DD has rejected all but scrambled so far... she pretty much only gets them when we eat out for breakfast though, since we don't make eggs on a regular basis.  She gets plenty of protein through dairy and meats though, so I don't mind if she doesn't eat eggs often.
  • We only give yokes, but she likes them omelet style only, with lots of veg (mushrooms are her fav)

  • Kayla likes them scrambled, but she really loves them if you scramble them with rice mixed in.  Maybe try that if DD likes rice?

  • Scrambled, usually. Lo likes them dry, so it's just the eggs, no milk.  Sometimes with some bell peppers, spinach, and onions mixed in, if that's how I'm making them for myself.

She's had hard boiled eggs, too, and gobbles them up. I just don't make them often.

I will add, she only gets eggs about once or twice a week. Do I need to worry about cholesterol with babies? She will eat a whole egg or more if I let her ;) Or is that a stupid worry/question?
I never even thought of cholesterol. L eats an egg scrambled in the pan with a little pepper for breakfast most mornings.

  • Hard boiled, scrambled, or as an omelette with stuff in it.

  • My kid will eat quiche or fritatas like it's his job, but will not eat scrambled eggs (with or without cheese).....he will eat hardboiled eggs and today he had an egg salad sandwich and ate most of it (it kind of fell apart, but he picked through most of it).

  • Scrambled or omelet with cheese. I also add milk and maybe spinach if we have some in hand.
