Jackson has a blanket in his crib. I check on him before I go to bed at 10 PM and I can never sleep well at night so he gets checked on again around 3 AM'ish. It's honestly how comfortable you feel...if you're hesitant, don't do it, wait a little longer.
DD's had a blanket for a while now, and she has her favorite stuffed animals in there, she cuddles them when she sleeps. We don't do a pillow because she sleeps on her stomach. I'm sure your LO would be fine.
J starts using a blanket a few weeks ago. He does fine, and it's never been anywhere near his face. Honestly, my concern is that he tends to roll out from under it completely, and I'm afraid it won't keep him warm when it gets colder.

L has a blanket, but doesn't use it like a blanket. He cuddles it. We still use a sleep sack because he is a very active sleeper. I am just getting ready to put a pillow in his bed soon.
Thanks ladies. I do let her sleep with her "baby" but was unsure about a blanket. She's only been using a blanket during naps since I'm up to check on her a lot.
Same as above...LO has 1 blanket and 3 stuffed animals. He choses the blanket over the animals. He doesn't stay covered up but he likes to ball it up and sleep on it.
Gabe always has a blanket... usually 2/3. He has probably been sleeping with a blanket since I stopped swaddling. I'd say go for it. They're old enough now.

Ian has always had a blanket...
Here's a pic I took of him last night while he was sleeping...2 blankets, a lovey, 3 little pillows, a pillow pet, a bear, and his choo choo train!
