Girls' slim jeans

What's your favorite brand of slim jeans?  DD has a pair of jordache slim with the adjustable waist that I got in a bundle of freecycle clothes but can't find them at a reasonable price.  What do you like for your DD?  It's the first time I've found jeans that are long enough but not bunched at the waist like she is malformed.

Re: Girls' slim jeans

  • my dd is not slim so we don't do slim jeans but we do jeggings (mostly from Children's place)... I find their clothes in general tend to run long (esp boys pants, we do mostly leggings for DD so I'm not sure about girls pants), have you tried them?

  • DD is long and lean. I get most of her pants from Old Navy, Gap or sometimes have luck at Carter's.

  • Yeah, she wears a lot of leggings with tees.  But (I wouldn't tell her in such a way) it just looks really , um. Incomplete?  Something.  Like she needs a skirt too or something. But she is a tomboy.  She wears2t- 3T shorts and skirts but needs 5s in pants for length.

  • I haven't tried Children's place.   Haven't done old navy- they're a jaunt but will try that... Carters and Naartjie are my primary stops, but haven't had much luck in jeans at Carters and I can't bring myself to pay the cost of jeans at Naartjie because they're jeans- lol!

I have the same issue with DD1. She can do 2T in the waist and needs 4T for length. Fortunately for me she prefers dresses, so we do lost of dresses/tunics and leggings, but I have found a few pair of Sonoma jeans (from Kohls, I think?) that fit her okay. Still a little bunching in the waist, but not nearly as bad as some other brands.

  • I have the same problems with DD. She can easily wear DS'S size 12-18 month shorts, but needs a 4t in length. She can wear TCP jeans but they always look really baggy on her. I really like her Gap slim jeans (I think they are the super skinny style) and my mom found a pair at Kohls which fit her pretty well.

That is why I kind of like jeggings bc they have the back pockets and stitching so they look more normal w a shirt ....worth a try on?

  • Thanks all!  A bunch of great ideas and I will try them all.  I am a chucks, tee and cargo shorts 6 months a year kinda girl who wears a dress twice a year for the hubby's work Christmas parties so navigating this for my kids is new territory.  I figure when she decides she is more concerned about her clothes I'll let her lead that, but I don't want her to be blind-sided now that she is in elementary school by kids picking on her for her clothes!

  • I like Sonoma jeans and jeggings from Kohls. We have some Carter's skinny jeans that are okay too, but I really prefer the jeggings since they are softer and have a more flexible waistband. They seem much more comfortable for my DD.

Sounds like my daughter! She wears a 5 in dresses and Ts, and a 3 in shorts. Most jeans look silly on her. I've had pretty good luck with Gap and Old Navy skinny jeans with the waist adjusted in a lot.
