dizziness

Anyone really REALLY dizzy? I remember this from maybe month 8 on last time, but not this early. When I stand up, about 80% of the time, everything starts going black and I have to grab on to something to steady myself. I'm sitting here at work and have had to keep putting my head down on my desk because I'm so lightheaded. FWIW, I'm 15 weeks tomorrow.

Re: dizziness

  • I feel the same way. Sometimes I'll just be sitting there and just feel really lightheaded and faint. It lasts for a while too. I was reading about it last night in What to Expect When Youre Expecting and it said its very normal. It recommended putting your head between your legs until it passes, then getting a snack and some water. Make sure you're drinking enough because dehydration can cause this. But chances are, it's just because of changes in your blood volume.

  • I get this as well, but since I started taking extra iron in the mornings, it has gotten better!
  • Only when I get up quickly...its replaced nausea so im okay with the trade.
  • Mine started at around 10wks I think. It was aweful at first! It's gotten better though, but anytime I lay my head down, look up, or see flashy lights, I still get dizzy.

When it was bad, I saw my doc & had my BP checked just be safe. That was all good, so they attributed it to normal pregnancy and gave me the generic lecture....stand up slowly, hang onto something or sit down if it comes on while standing, drink plenty of water, etc....
