I'm all about AP, bedsharing, babywearing, nursing to sleep, all of it. But my weirdo baby is not! He wakes constantly if we bedshare, and he won't just nurse back to sleep. He has to be walked around then put back in his crib. DH was like, "why don't you just nurse him in bed all night?" I WISH I COULD. He doesn't like to be worn unless I'm on a walk. And only about 50% of the time will he nurse to sleep. He'll finish nursing and then look up at me like "wth? why am I still awake?" Gah. I feel like my life would be so much easier if he would just nurse to sleep and let me wear him all day in a carrier. But alas. I have the crazy baby.
Re: I have the weirdo baby
ETA: He's 5.5 months old and I think he's just too nosy and on the move to be stuck to me in a carrier.
If you don't mind buying another carrier, you could try the Beco Gemini. It allows for a facing out position. One of my girls only likes to be worn if she can see out (she twists herself halfway around in the Moby!) so I bought the Gemini specifically because it has a forward facing position.
I didn't plan on being AP, I didn't even realize I was AP but in listening to my DDs needs that's just how it turned out. She's a kid who prefers to be held and to bed share, but if the next one is happier being independent then that's cool too.
