This is our fifth night following the Sleep Lady Program. After the first night of a solid hour of crying, he has gone down for bed about 7:15 without tears and within 15 minutes. Naps have been successful about 80% of the time, which is better than the 10% of the time before we started. However, the middle of the night is still a major problem. Every night between 12-1, the time when he used to come into our bed, he has woken up and been inconsolable for about an hour. I've tried following the same steps as the going to bed soothing routine, but nothing seems to help. It becomes a matter of waiting it out, which is agonizing in the middle of the night. Last night I couldn't take it any more, and I waited it out on the couch instead of in the room. He seemed to quiet soon after I left, so maybe I'm better off not staying with him for MOTN wake- ups? Have I missed something in the program? My sleep deprived brain cannot seem to problem solve any more.
