No bathtub?

What do you guys with no bathtubs do for baths if your kids don't like showers? My DS is way too big for his infant tub but I'm not liking the inflatable tubs. Any suggestions?

Re: No bathtub?

  • Yeah, my kid HATES To get his face remotely wet. I'm thinking it'll be a while before a shower.. But I think I'll try the inflatable and see how I like it. I just never liked the idea. Did it ever leak?

  • My DD only takes showers if i'm there with her, usually in a hotel room or travling to grandmas. I would pick her up and sing shower song I made .  Now she's a little older and she asks for the shower in her bathtub and picks up her bath toys and sings the same song, it's adorable.

So try taking a shower with him or your husband doing that to get used to the water on his head.

  • I never used DS1's infant tub... I always just bathed with him. When he was about 10 months, I stopped and allowed him to sit up in the tub. He LOVES his baths and the problem for us is that he will fight to stay in there all night if you'd let him. There are times when I need to get his bedtime routine done quicker and still get him cleaned, especially with a LO and FI works through the night.

Do you have a removable shower head? We call that a "shower" for DS. I put the setting on a soft, "thick" stream and he's really good about that. He also hated getting his face wet but now he's gotten used to it, and also covers his eyes when I'm washing his hair with the shower head.

Maybe just introduce that little baby steps at a time?
