Hemmies, What's "Normal"?

Mother of pearl hemorrhoids blow! I started Colace on Sunday to help, but have issues. What sucks even more is that I had a C Section so these are clearly caused by constipation and efforts after birth. I have Happy Mama Bottom spray that I currently use, but it's time for a trip to CVS for reinforcements.

Any Rhoid Rage pros have tips to healing or making things more bearable?

  • Try miralax but if you haven't gone in awhile definitely a fleet enema asap. I ended up in emergency room and had severe rectal bleeding. Colace and miralax and lots of water

  • Are they internal or external?
Witch hazel pads and dibucaine ointment!

  • Colace did nothing for me, but I second the Miralax...I had the same post c section issues this time around, and it SUCKS!

Ok, sorry if TMI, but I "go" about every two days. Should I be "going" more than that?

I may need to go the suppository route as I think they're internal. I have sitt bath herbs balls so maybe I'll try those.

  • No advice but I'm sorry! Costco has a big box of Tucks pads :(
  • I am sorry to say that i can completely relate! Since my labour (2 hours of pushing and an emergency c section), my digestion and "going" has not been the same, and I have been plagued by mostly internal hemroids.

The only relief i got was from constant use of suppositories (the brand here in canada is called Anusol- has differebt active ingredients than prep H). Took a few days of continuous use to go with no pain, but pain was reduced after first use. Tucks pads or witch hazel helped right after going as well.

    Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  • I have huge constipation problems while bfing. :(. I think my body gets really good at absorbing every possible nutrient from my food, and leaves me with bunny turds.

My midwife recommended Senokot with Colace, so you get a laxative and a stool softener.  I would definitely talk to your doctor, though.  Sounds rough.

I get 30-odd grams of fibre every day (25g is the recommendation), and I'm still only going every 3 days or so, and still having trouble with hems. :/
