I'm pretty sure I have thrush. I googled it but I just wanted to ask here because I trust you ladies also! I had finally reached that glorious time when breastfeeding stopped hurting. It was essentially pain-free. But starting two days ago, suddenly my right nipple is killing me. (Actually both boobs/nipples hurt but the right one is much worse.) It hurts pretty much all the time whether I am BF or not. It seems to be getting worse. Parts of my nipple are bright red and part is blanched. I also have been getting deep shooting pain in my breast. I haven't really noticed any white patches in DD's mouth, but she has been much more fussy during feedings the last few days. She pulls off my breast continuously but yet is still very hungry. She cries and gets very frustrated. We have her next pedi appt on the 19th but I'm thinking I should contact her sooner? I read it can kind of be a long process to completely get rid of it. I appreciate any advice on this! Breastfeeding certainly isn't easy. First DD had breastmilk jaundice, then I had multiple clogged ducts, followed by a big dip in my supply due to medication I had to take, then DD refusing bottles, now possibly thrush? Sigh... Thanks ladies.

I have white on my nipples most of the time but it's actually vasospasm, and there is pain associated with that too, but I've gotten used to it and been able to better manage it so they don't blanche as often. I sometimes get the shooting pain deep in my breast tissue but I've figured out it's actually when he's due for a feeding, it's like my boobs know... I have gotten checked for thrush and I def. don't have it. Hopefully it's not thrush but a coincidence of symptoms but either way, good luck!
