4 month shots :(

I'm sitting here rocking my sad sad baby to sleep. He had his 4 month shots about 5 hours ago and suddenly developed a low grade fever and he is so sore. Anytime I try to lay him in his crib he screams due to the pain. I just gave him tylenol so hopefully that kicks in. Anything else I should be doing? Is this pretty common? How long does it last? Thank you!

    Nope. it's caught us off guard. It's been a few hours and I'm nursing him again. It seems like his fever has broke so that's good.

    LO just slept for a day after her two month shots but the four month reaction was horrible. She had a fever around 101 and was really fussy. Her legs got really hot where the shot was and she had hard little knots for two days. We stayed consistent with the Tylenol to keep her fever down, avoided touching her legs and cuddled her a lot. I also held her to sleep during the day because I could get her back to sleep before she fully woke up when she fussed. Good luck and I hope your LO feels better soon.

    Ugh. Our 2 months were bad enough. Doing 4 months this week. I scheduled them so DD doesn't go back to day care after...we're just coming straight home. Sorry your little one had a rough time.

    Yes! We managed to get an appointment on a Friday afternoon so we had the whole weekend to deal with a reaction. I'm glad we did! Good luck with your appt!

       Our LO had his 4 month shots last week and he was a bit frumpy/off for a couple days.  He didn't have a fever nor did he have any swelling/redness where he got the shots but he napped horrible and sleeping at night.. holy cow, he was up every 1-1/2.  His 2 month shots you barely knew he had them.

    :( I hate to hear this...I hate shots more than anything!

    So instead of scheduling them on a Wednesday, maybe I should get them done on a Friday so we have the whole weekend to cuddle!?!?!

    Ours had no prob at 2, but at 4 didnt sleep and had a real fever. My advice is keep up on the tylenol. I thought my lo's was gone and waited for a second dose and she got really hot/fussy/sad. Lots of cuddles and cool cloths :) good luck!
