Breastfeeding

Breast Pump!?!?

So I spoke with my insurance company and they will cover, well reimburse, $150 to a breast pump!!! Not knowing how well or if breast feeding will work for me, FTM, I don't want to go out an get the nicest expensive one they have lol!! Any suggestions on a reasonable priced and reliable pump?!?

Thanks :)

  • Target puts the medela PISA on sale occasionally for $225. It's a great double electric pump and comes with a travel bag, bottles, a thermal bag for transporting milk and a ice pack. You can also get coupons on targets website for baby items so you could combine with the sale price. That's what I did since I didn't get it through my insurance

  • I have Ameda Purely Yours, I think its a little cheaper but I have no problems with it.

  • The PISA is actually on sale for $225 at Target right now, in fact. I just bought it this week after struggling with the Medela Freestyle for 2.5 months. The PISA is much cheaper than the Freestyle even when not on sale and, in my opinion, it's a better and more reliable pump.

I am using this one currently and haven't had any problems with it.  I exclusively pump for my daughter and it does well.  Have been using it for almost 6 months now.

This.  You can get just the pump without the bag and bottles for like $140 if you watch for sales.  Then get whatever bag and bottles you like.  We had so many of those cooler packs given to us by the pedi and the hospital and my OB that I never had to buy any.

  • I got the PISA on sale for $225 and used a 20 percent off coupon so ended up paying $180. This is the pump I used for 18 months with DS1 and now I bought the same pump to use for DS2.
  • I Love the Medela pump in style advanced.
