Jittery after 3 hour test

So this is my second 3 hour glucose test, doc had me do one in the first trimester and I passed... My first 1 hour was 135, this one was 143.... I ate dinner yesterday around 6 and had dessert around 7, after that just water... I drank a glass of water this morning before going to the lab... Took longer than usual to get checked in... So I had planned on eating at 11:30, but now I am do jittery, I ate about 30 minutes ago... Anyone else get the jitters from not eating on schedule?

Re: Jittery after 3 hour test

  • Yes, i started getting shaky shortly after eating something at 11:30am, started the test at 7:30am.

  • I got ridiculously jittery after eating when my 3 hour test was over. I felt like I do right before I throw up if I'm sick. I was cold but sweating and just shaking all over. It got better as my food started to settle in though.

  • I felt horrible during the first three hour test, ate and came home and slept. This time I ran a couple errands during and after the test, felt nauseated until after the 2nd stick, I rested for a couple hours and am much better! Thank you for your responses!
  • The three hour really drained me and made me feel jittery. Coming down from the sugar high was not fun.

  • I was jittery after the one hour. I'm assuming I passed, because it was over a week ago.

  • I did my 3 hour last week, have an appointment today for the results!  I felt SUPER tired during the test and when I got home I had a terrible migraine.  Other than that, I don't remember any jitters--but I didn't feel so hot from not eating for an extended period of time.
  • I get very jittery if I don't eat on schedule.  I was also jittery after my 3-hour test, so that day (not eating until 11, and doing that test) was not so fun.

What worked well for me was, surprisingly, having some juice (I get jittery when my blood sugar gets too low, I don't know what my numbers were) - but the juice helped me feel a little more stable right away, and have some protein.  Once my body switches back to a high protein/healthy fat diet, then it settles down.  And drink LOTS of water.  My test was over at 11, and I felt normal around 2-ish.
