Took my son to Petco today because Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia was having their adoption event. When I was pregnant with DS I used to work the adoption events with them and help with their website, so I figured we would go and I would talk to some old friends and DS could play with the puppies. While there another rescue organization was holding their event too, no biggie, the woman from the other group come over while we are all talking and is asking about the organization and questions about the breed, then she looks at me and says your about to have your hands full aren't you, your big what are you having twins. I said no just one, and she kept on well is your husband big because that's gonna be a big baby, your son is pretty big for his age was he a big baby. I proceeded to ask how old she thought my son was and she's like oh he seems like he just turned two. I told her no he was actually three and her comeback was well he babbles and doesn't talk like what a typical three year old would, sorry and walks away. Really? I have to admit DS does sound younger because of his speech delay but I've never had anyone say anything about it. I went back to talking to my friends and ignored the other group for the rest of the time then it occurred to me what snaps in people that makes them think it's ok to comment on how big pregnant women are, or anything else for that matter.
Re: I truly think people lose their filter when around pregnant women
I though it was odd someone came up to my DS today and kissed him. I didn't mind that she was talking to him in straight up French but when she leaned in out of nowhere and started kissing his face I was like personal space lady, I don't know you so don't kiss him.

He may or may not have had a full on baby wipe bath right there in the store followed by trip to the bathroom to wash his face.
I'm amazed by the crap people say. A lady a work told me I looked fat and then when I objected, she said "that's a good thing" as if it was OK.
Then there was the older man who asked how everything was "growing with me" (wtf????) and another who said I was trying to turn the baby into a girl cuz I was wearing pink.

Saying stuff about your son is a jerk move.

Someone asked me if my baby was "mixed." Where did that even come from?
To which I tell them that we want to beat the duggers and are aiming for a tv slow.

I get the 'it must be twins' so much my attitude has become rather hostile in response, because people always protest and insist that one is hiding behind the other. Frack off people our family makes big babies!
I also REALLY hate when ppl look me up and down when they ask if it's my first. YES I am in my thirties ppl- most North Americans tend to start having kids at this age. I want to poke their judgmental eyes out for those looks.
My son IS actually mixed and I get told very often that he is not my child. I've been asked who I'm watching him for. I've also had women (because its usually women) come up to him while he's crying and ask him where his mommy is when I'm standing right there. I could go on and on but I won't since you get the picture.
