Cloth Diapering

gdiapers

I am currently preggo w/ #3 and I am thinking about cloth diapering for this one.  I used disposable for my first 2.  I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions/recommendations for brands or any other suggestions that might make the switch a good one.  The only ones I have looked at so far are gdiapers.  Does anyone else use these??

Re: gdiapers

  • Check out the FAQ at the top of the board for info. GDiapers are rarely recommended. Good luck!

  • They seem to be popular on my local CDing group. However, they are far from the favorite diaper most places. It's very hit or miss. I don't like them. I prefer one sized options after newborn dipes are over with. More bang for your buck.

  • I use them and like them because they are very trim, but we do get more leaks with them. Not huge leaks, more just wicking onto the g-pant cover. It's usually not enough to even change baby's outfit. They are also easier for going out because you only bring the inserts and maybe an extra cover. I would not use them for overnight or naps though.

  • I use them and I love them. I have had only a few leaks, and most of those were when we needed to go from the smalls to the mediums. We also had a few leaks in the mediums only because my son stays dry most of the night and then about 30 mins after waking for the day pees like crazy. I have found a solution that works and haven't had problems since. I haven't had any problems with them at naps either. It really depends on the baby and how much they pee during a nap or at night.
  • I am (obviously) new to CD board. We bought our first gdiapers today because LO is allergic/leaks with everything else. I'm very excited to see if these work for us!!

  • My son isn't born yet (due next month), but I've ordered some gdiapers (including a couple of the newborn sized covers) because I think the flushable inserts will be handy when taking longer trips and when my CD-scared in-laws are watching him.  Hopefully they'll work out well as part of our collection.  I plan to use the cloth inserts for them most of the time and also have a variety of just about every other type of diaper out there (AIO's, covers and prefolds, AI2's).
