Re: Calling all non-Facebookers! Catch us up!

  • Ooh good idea!

We're still trying to decide if we are done and want to be our family of four forever.
I now have a preschooler and Daisy is enjoying have some alone time with mommy everyday. We're still house hunting and hoping that we did something we like soon. Daisy is a little handful with her sassy little attitude. She loves anything girly and loves playing dress up but isn't afraid to get dirty Playing with her brother. She is a major talker and she seriously Learns new words everyday.
  • Madison is doing great.  She is such a sweet little lovebug and always happy!  She absolutely loves being outside, being read to, and "reading" to herself.  The girl is obsessed with her books.  She also loves helping me around the house and has become mommy's little helper. I can't wait for her to be big sister, which will be any day now.  Due on Tuesday, the 10th and getting induced the 12th if she doesn't come on her own.  We think her name will be Alexis Lynn, although DH won't commit until she's born lol

  • Let's see! I was really concerned about Nat's lack of communication/language development until a week or two ago. She's gotten very talkative and is actually trying to repeat things we say (yesterday, she tried to say "mouth" and "spoon"). It just goes to show that kids really do have their own clock! She's been busy playing on playgrounds (she can pretty much do anything now that isn't too too high), playing with "choo choos", constantly asking to put her shoes on, doing puzzles, and just being a sweet 18mo!

As for me, I'm still working! I have 5 clients, 2 tutoring students, and a Math SAT/ACT Prep Group. It's really hard being away from Nat almost every evening during the week, but it has been a blessing on our finances. I'm just taking the stress one week at a time! We are also TTC #2. I'm really hoping this month is our month, but I'm not confident about our timing. We'll find out in the next two weeks if we were successful!

imageI am still on here some so not sure if this update is needed but I'll give one anyway. :)

Addy is doing well! Loves to hug our legs and walk down the sidewalk holding both Mama and Papa's hands- 2 of my favorite things she is doing right now! She started walking at 14 months (I think? Bad Mama!) and finally has a grand total of 4 teeth. :) She is behind in her speech and we just got referred to speech therapy at her 18 month appointment earlier this week. We have to go to an audiologist first to rule out that it's not her hearing that's the problem which I definitely don't think it is and we will go from there. She only has one "word" that she uses 100% consistently and that's "uh-oh." She is very good at babbling. :-/ Her receptive speech seems to be really great, she just doesn't have a vocabulary. So we are working on that and Mama is trying not to worry. She is still a very very tiny little one but she actually put on a bit of weight this check up- she's 29.5 inches (2% which she's been for a very long time) and 19lbs 8.5oz (11% which is up from the 5% she had been for a year or more). We have no plans of TTC, although DH would love to. We are hoping to adopt one day. I feel like our family is complete with just the 3 of us right now but I see that slowing changing as time goes on. ;)

Edit- Here's a picture from this week. Sorry if it's huge. This was her first boat ride and she loved it! :)

  • It's great to see all the updates across the board. :) I'll keep mine short since I still check-in here frequently.

Ashley is doing great. She's a climber, and lately, very independent. The last few days around here have been tantrum central, as she's learning that she can't always have her way. She's talking A LOT now! She didn't say more than 5 words before she hit 18 months, then she had this language explosion! All of a sudden she's coming out with three or four word phrases, she sings all the time... it's so much fun to watch her learn and grow. It's also fun to watch DH burst out in to the Dora the Explorer theme song when he watches it with Ash on a Saturday morning. ha! All this to say things are going well. I look forward to what the future brings!
  • I posted a few times while I was pregnant with DS. I still lurk around here though. :] My son Dimitri is doing great. He has a few violent tendencies which I have been trying to work out with him and his doctor referred him to a behavioral specialist. He says a few words, his favorites being 'goggie' for the dogs (he pretty much says it to any animal though) and 'cookie' for anything he can eat. He has been walking since about 11 months and he loves going swimming and to the park!

  • My handsome boy is doing wonderful.  He is such a motormouth.  We are speaking in three - four word sentences and every day he's learning new words.  My favorite right now is "Mama, don't touch" when he doesn't want to be moved from the mischief he's currently in.

    He's a string bean only 24lbs.

He loves to bite me when we are out in public.  It's never when he's mad mostly love bites but it's annoying and hurts like hell.   He cries now when I leave him alone with DH.   But I think that's because he doesn't get enough Daddy time.

We start soccer class this weekend.  He's very athletic, loves to throw everything.  Obsessed with "Choo Choos and bball (basketball)".

His crazy Mama is already planning his bday party.  It's a sickness people!

  • I'm actually just coming back too... its nice to see what everyone is up to.

Addy is doing wonderfully!  She is around the 80th percentile for both height and weight.  She is very verbal- more so than we expected at this age.  She is now starting to talk in phrases/sentences and will sit independently and "read" stories that she is familiar with (in her own words of course).  She loves climbing and will spend a great deal of the day climbing on and off the couch.  She has super curly hair, which is a challenge for me as my hair is super straight (and so is DH's).  We LOVE it, but I don't know what to do with it most of the time.

I was an active member of the board before Addy was born and shortly thereafter.  I disappeared for a while (but kept lurking) when Addy was little.  I became more active on this board around the time we decided to start TTC #2.  In July, we got a BFP and were thrilled!  At the time, I became less active here (too busy getting ready for school to start).  In August (the day before I went back to school) we lost our baby.  Its been a hard road for us, but we are ready to move on and are back to TTC.

I love seeing all the pictures of the LO's!  Its so hard to believe that they are toddlers already and will be 2 before we know it!

  • I lurk now too, but still here most days. Life is crazy with the twins but mostly fun. They are running and climb EVERYTHING. The other day I found them on top of our upright piano!! I about died when I saw them. They started gymnastics last week and are actually supposed to hang on stuff there, so it is right up their alley. We are still behind in speech but getting a lot better. Tomorrow is our 6th month re-eval with birth -3 and it will be I interesting to see if they get dismissed. DH and I have decided we are set with the 4 of us. My OB said I have a 1 in10 chance of the next pregnancy being multiples again, and I just can't survive doing the first year of twins again! So lucky to have them though, and glad that our family feels so complete!
