2 in diapers

My son is only 6 months old & I'm due mid may. So I think I'll probably have two in diapers for a while. I already have a NB stash, but what do you think I need to add to my one size to make it work for 2 babes? I've never diapered an older baby so I'm not sure how different it is from what I'm doing now. Thanks in advance for the help, I'm too excited to buy more dipes!

I just had the equivalent of 2 stashes. Both kids had their own dipes. Though you can get away with 36 fir 2 kids.

I agree with Nana it's probably easier to have separate stashes for each kid. Then you're not constantly readjusting rise snaps and/or leg elastic. However, remember that you can only wash around 15 to 20 OS diapers at a time unless you have a crazy big washer. So if you want to wash EOD you may have to do a couple loads of CDs that day. Otherwise it might make sense to wash everyday and have slightly smaller stashes for each kid.

We have two separate stashes, as well. My daughter is very close to potty training so now that my son is moving into one-size diapers, I just purchased some large prefolds for my daughter to use and all of her one-size diapers are now being used on my son. I'm hoping feeling the wetness from the prefolds will help with potty training, as well.

I have two in cloth they each have their own but I had to buy more, so I bought some bum genius covers at the cotton babies seconds sale. I use them on my 3 year old but stuff them with my infants prefolds.

Not really planning to add anything, I'll just take one or two colors and call them hers. My washer won't get bigger and I sure don't want full loads of dirty diapers sitting around- I'll just wash every 1-2 days instead of 2-3 until DS potty trains. I might need an extra night diaper or two.

I have nothing to add, just wanted to say congrats! I have an almost 6-month-old and am due in May, too! And I also didn't think of the different rises thing, so I'm glad you posted this

This is what I did. I saw no need to double my stash when I have to wash more frequently due to load size. I used DS's arrival as an excuse to get 6 more diapers. just to have a tiny bit more wiggle room. DD is already wearing them. When DS starts fitting in the one size stash, I'll just divide DD's diapers in half.

I dunno about you, but I'm lazy. I do 2 diaper loads every 2-3 days. No way in heck am I dealing with every day dipes again.
