Question about baby clothes

I know this had been asked but for the life of me I can't find where it was asked with be being mobile sorry...
How early is too early to start washing baby clothes..... I have a daughter already and having another girl so all I'm doing it pulling out my daughters old clothes from storage and need to wash them... how early do you think is too early to start this? I'm due nov 17! Ill be 30 weeks tomorrow!

Re: Question about baby clothes

  • That's what I was thinking but I just didn't know if sitting in the dresser it would get dust or whatever on it... Thanks I know it's a dumb question but I'm running out of time with chasing my daughter around I need to start getting LOs stuff together!

  • I washed my first load a week ago (I am due November 20th).  My mom used a bunch of baby clothes as decorations at my baby shower so I decided I should wash them before putting them away.  However, I only washed the newborn clothes, all the rest that weren't used still have tags on them....  I was so sad when the washer or dryer ate a hole in a brand new baby sock =(  I saw the recommendation to put them in a lingerie bag too late.....

  • I have from preemie clothes to 24 months (which is what my daughter is in now) so I only plan on washing the preemie to 0-3 months for now but I have so much to do with freezing meals, packing my bag,my daughters bag, the LOs bag, washing clothes for the LO, cleaning my house, and whatever comes up on my to do list I need to start somewhere so I figured washing LOs clothes would be a good place to start... Thank you!
  • I'm 29 weeks and I started this week. We moved since the last time we used most of the stuff so everything needs to be washed. Since I ended up giving birth at 34 weeks last time I'm trying to get whatever I can get done as early as possible. As a PP said, it's not like they'll go bad.

  • All newborn to 3 month have been washed and our away for a few weeks. The baby's room us clean and it's a new dresser so the way I see it is it's never to early to be ready
  • I haven't gotten many clothing items yet, so we really don't have much. I'll be waiting until after my shower to see what I get and probably start washing all the baby clothes then. My shower is next weekend, I'll be 33 weeks.

@karissa2009 DD1was in preemie clothes for about the first month of her life (she was only 10 days early and weighed 6lbs 15oz, but newborn were HUGE on her) so I still have them from her so I figured I would wash them and bring one to the hospital just incase!!! DD2 is measuring small just like DD1 was my while pregnancy and since I already have them it won't hurt to wash them just in case!
