Mastitis

So I went to the dr Thursday and I have mastitis , anyways my supply in the infected breast is way low. Wed night I pumped 4 ou in the same breast now if I pump I'm getting a half an ou. Does anybody know if my supply will go back up? they put me on an antibiotic , my son nurses every 2 hrs during the day and every 4 to 6 at night should I pump every two hrs at night to help my supply ? Any advise would be appreciated :) thanks

    Your supply should go back to normal… My supply from the affected breast did go down for about 2 days but then after I felt better I noticed it caught back up.

    I am just coming off a bout of mastitis and my supply is back to normal. The affected breast is actually pumping out more than my other one! I did drink non alcoholic beer and ate oatmeal to help get my supply back up. Be sure to take probiotics to avoid getting thrush, take ibuprofen to help with inflammation as well as a cold compress after nursing. Good luck! Mastitis is the worst!

    This. I just had mastitis about 2 weeks ago.

    It should go back to normal. I had mastitis three times in 7 weeks and I still have an oversupply. My supply did drop during the worst bout. I ate lots of steel cut oats, drank water like crazy, had one dark beer a day. Now I'm trying to cut my supply down again, ugh.
