My LO turned 6 months last Sunday and is sitting great, working on crawling, grabs things (everything she can reach), very happy and smiley, etc. but she rarely laughs- we have gotten a few out of her, but work very hard to make them happen- does anyone know if this is normal? I don't know why it bugs me so much- I think mostly just because I love hearing her laugh, so I am jealous of everyone's babies who seem to laugh at everything and I just wasn't sure if it was normal at this point or what...:)
Thanks!
Re: Laughing
My DD turned 6 month on the 3rd and she doesn't laugh either. We have to work really hard to get a very tiny laugh out of her. We have her 6 month app today and it's actually on my list of questions to ask the doctor.
Anyway, my pedi said as long as she is smiling and interacting with us or when she sees an interesting toy she'd go to it and is happy then there is nothing to worry about. She also said it's a personality thing and some kids just don't laugh all that much.
It's not surprising now that I think about it because everyone who sees DD tries to make her smile, she instead just stares them with big wide serious eyes. If they're lucky and very funny they get a smile out of her. People usually comment that "she's so serious just like her daddy!" Her daddy is a quiet, computer nerd and I am quiet scientist so I guess two introvert, shy and quiet people shouldn't be surprised that their baby doesn't laugh all that much..I wish she did though I love her laughs..
