I really enjoy my job (recently took a new position in the company) and my boss is great and super flexible when/if I need to leave to care for LO (sick, appointments, etc...). The only thing is that I have a ton of down time most days, which really isn't a huge deal, I am getting paid after all, but I'm bored. I'm pretty sure I've read just about every board on the bump at this point and my office is cleaner than my home now. I'd so much rather spend this time with my LO. I know this position could be done PT, or some work from home, but I'm not sure how, or if I should, even bring that up. The woman who had the position before was always swamped, but she was promoted up, taking part of this role with her, which is part of why I'm not swamped like she was. When I talk to DH about it, he says I should be proactive and look for things I can be helping with, but honestly, there isn't much of that available. Just don't know what to do. Suggestions to keep myself busy?

When I have down time I go and help out a supervisor in a different department. It gets me more exposure to different jobs in the company and my boss is very supportive of the crosstraining. Plus when she goes on vacation I can cover for her and my boss doesn't have to. So he's all for it :P
