    I LOVE GTKY Friday! :)

    1. My rings. My engagement ring and wedding band on my left hand, and the ring that I wear on my right hand which was my wedding gift from my wife. It is thin band of diamonds in a criss-cross pattern and it is SO me, and I love it and I was totally surprised when she gave it to me. I have worn it every day since our wedding. If the house was on fire and I had time to only grab 1 thing (after people and pets), it would be those rings (assuming I didn't have them on!)

    2. I currently have nothing planned in terms of vacation. We haven't taken a trip since we went to Florida for a week over Christmas last year. Before that it was our honeymoon last August. We decided to direct all money towards TTC this year, and when we ended up moving to IVF, it became official that there would be no trip this year. Which is fine. I am sitting on about 3 weeks of vacation time that I have to use by the end of this year, so I am thinking of taking a week off in October and just hang out at home and do some "me things."

    3. Oh gosh... this is hard! I wouldn't want to give them any of the names that I want to use for our kids. And it makes me sad that I would never see them again! HAHA... ummmm, maybe Penelope & Peter -- those where my maternal grandfather's parents' names. My mother wanted to name me Penelope, but my father wanted no part of it and vetoed the name. I also know that my wife would never want to use that name for our kids. And I don't really like Peter for my own son and there are a zillion Peters already in my family. So I don't know, maybe that is what I would pick. I would be sad to not get to see what kind of people the children I named turned out to be though... can we pretend that I can see them again if I want to? :)

    4. A salad with spinach, tuna fish, black olives, mushrooms, crushed almonds & fat free thousand island dressing. It was yummy!

    5. My arms! Without a doubt. I lost over 100 lbs about 2.5 yrs ago, and I had carried a lot of weight in my upper arms and back before I lost weight. Well, now I have lots of saggy, baggy skin in that region and I am super self-conscious about it. I hate wearing anything sleeveless, and I mostly don't because I hate my arms so much. I dream of a little nip/tuck to fix them some day if we hit the lotto. They are just a daily reminder of my old body and I hate that.

    6. My wife and her family are here and have always been and they love it, which makes me love it; cost of living is sooooo much more affordable than where I grew up; Philadelphia is a very culturally diverse city -- there is a little bit of everything, and I like that.

    7. This will be a mystery to me. My wife has 100% control over the nursery. Once we are pregnant she will start planning (although I know she already has lots of ideas), and then she plans to send me away to my mom's house for a few days while she paints and sets things up, and it will be a surprise when I get home.

    8. I like mostly everything about my job. But I love being a part of the story of the company I work for the most. We were a small pharma start-up company when I joined 4.5 years ago. I was the 34th employee. We had a very "early days of google" type of atmosphere. We even worked out of a loft-like warehouse space for about 6 months complete with dartboard, comfy couches, posters on the walls, etc. We grew up about 2.5 years ago when we were acquired by one of "the big 5" large pharma companies. Now we are a wholly-owned subsidiary and we have about 100 employees at this location. It is really cool to be a part of company's story and feel like you helped build it. The stock options weren't bad either!

    9. No. We have lots of lesbian acquaintances, but not many actual friends who we regularly spend time with. We are not good at maintaining friendships that require effort. I know that sounds awful. We have about 3-4 couples that we are close to (2-3 of which are straight), and that is about it. We are also really close to J's family, and I consider most of them to be friends. I don't know... we talk about this every now and then... we feel like we need to be more of a community, especially when we have kids. We joined a Family Pride organization in our area last year and went to their annual conference. We plan to go again this year. We keep saying we want to make friends with some of the young families there once we have kids... we shall see...

    10. I am obsessed with politics.

PIP: This is a pic of me with my mother-in-law at the bridal shower that we went to last weekend. She is awesome.

  • 1) I'd take my great grandmother's ruby ring.  It's the only real family heirloom we have (my maternal ancestors were dirt poor, farming stock German immigrants).  It was the only nice thing my great-grandmother owned so I'd hate to see it go up in flames after all these years.

    2) We'll be going to Wisconsin Dells in October for a few days - nothing too fancy, but they have the Dells on Tap which is an AWESOME beer festival if you enjoy a good brew!  You go into the beer tent and you get a glass and you can drink as much as you'd like.  Every couple minutes someone will raise their glass and shout "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!" and everyone else raises their glass and shouts "Heeeeeeeeeeeey!" with them.  So. Much. Fun.  Hopefully I won't be able to partake in the festivities this year but DP and I already agreed that I'll be staying at the spa if I'm preggo by then.

    3) I'd name the twins Katniss and Peeta after the Hunger Games :)

    4) I had burgers, scalloped potatoes, and broccoli for dinner.  It was tasty!

    5) I'd say my neck.  I carry fat in my neck and it makes me look shapeless.  Otherwise I'm perfectly happy with my body!

    6) The trees, the lakes, and the people.  I live in a small liberal enclave in Indiana and it's a wonderful place, though you get slapped in the face by reality as soon as you venture out of the city limits.

    7) We already painted it lol... It's 3 cream walls and 1 turqoise accent wall.  We figure those colors would go well with pink accents (for a girl) or green accents (for a boy).  DP has plenty of plans for it already but we're holding off on fully decorating until I'm at least several months pregnant.

    8) My favorite thing about my job is the students.  They're so fun to work with.  I love watching them grow from year to year - over the years they develop a lot of self-actualization and I think it's wonderful.  I wouldn't want to do anything else :)

    9) Sadly, no.  I wish we did.  We have a handful we're close to.  We used to hang with a bigger crowd but that's dissipated since they all flew the coop.  Our closest friends are 3 lesbians, 2 gay boys, and 4 straight couples, and a handful of single straight ladies.  Regardless of their orientation or gender they're all super cool and love us as a couple.

  • Gah!  I forgot 10 :) Random tidbit... Um... my handwriting is terrible.  I realize this isn't ground-breaking information but really.  I can't even read it anymore.  It's slowly gone downhill since the advent of computers and the internet so I prefer to type things and I get really embarrassed when I have to handwrite something for someone else to read.  It's on par with maybe a 3rd grader.  Just awful for a grown woman.
  • 1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession? I hate to be cliche...but my BW is my prized possession (even though she technically is my "possession")

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it! Well, I'm "on" vacation this week, but it's more of a staycation because I didn't go anywhere.

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J). I would name them Christian and Anatasia....just to be cute

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night? Homemade chili....it was yummy

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside). Gender change

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are…. Space, geographical area, school district

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery? I like a neutral yellow or green, but BW will probably override me and go with the traditional gender assigned colors of blue or pink.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job? The hours and benefits! My employer has covered over 90% of our infertility treatments!

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends? I wouldn't say "a lot", but probably 2-3 couples that we hang out with on a semi consistent basis.

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit).....I'm scared of the BFP!!!!!!

  • 2) We'll be going to Wisconsin Dells in October for a few days - nothing too fancy, but they have the Dells on Tap which is an AWESOME beer festival if you enjoy a good brew!  You go into the beer tent and you get a glass and you can drink as much as you'd like.  Every couple minutes someone will raise their glass and shout "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey!" and everyone else raises their glass and shouts "Heeeeeeeeeeeey!" with them.  So. Do you live in WI?

  • Hi all!

My work day is never-ending tomorrow, so posting these tonight! Have at it!

    1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession?

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it!

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J)

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night?

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside)

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery?

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job?

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)

    BONUS: PIP us something, anything!

    1. I really don't know. I have lots of things and plenty of sentimental things but I'm not sure that any of them are so prized/loved/valuable that I would be devastated to lose them. I think that's a good thing for me since I tend to break and lose things. M and I decided that while the rings we exchanged at our Love Party are very important to us, they are very important for what they're a symbol of, and as such, are replaceable. We both lose things so this was an important decision for us to make about how to think about things. I also have a little (maybe 10" x 14") table top that my Aunt Sara painted for me when I was a child. Since my Aunt Sara has passed away, this is even more important to me than it used to be. But it's not like I have it carefully stored somewhere or on prominent display. And there's a print of a Mary Cassatt painting that was hanging in my grandparents' house that always reminded me of my mother and me. I have it now. And I found out after my grandmother passed away that my Aunt Sara gave that to my grandparents because it reminded her of her mother (my grandmother) and her. But if something happened to that, I would buy another print of it.

    2. I'm going to Florida in November to play in a baseball tournament. I'm hoping that M and I will get away to a cottage for a weekend before then, possibly with our next door neighbors and their dog.

    3. Spenser and Cody (either for either one). I'm a big fan of gender neutral names, but these are ones M and I are unlikely to use because they're our brothers' names.

    4. Meatballs, twice baked potatoes, salad, corn, and broccoli. I was babysitting for our friend's kid (which I do twice a week now on Thursday and Friday evenings) and our friend made dinner. It was delicious.

    5. My belly. I carry my weight in my belly and while I like to think that I have pretty good fat politics, I struggle with my own body image. Also, having a big belly makes it hard for me to fit into the clothes (men's button downs, men's jeans, etc.) that make me feel good because larger men tend to wear clothes below their belly, but I have a high waist and can't get comfortable with that low rise thing.

    6. How close we are to outdoor green space. Racial, ethnic, gender, sexuality, and class diversity. Proximity to M's mom and sis, and 10-hour-drive proximity to my family.

    7. I don't know if we will paint a nursery. It depends on how long it takes us to get a take-home baby and what the painting policies of our new apartment are. M and I both love purple and rainbow, but since we tend to be drawn to animal-based baby stuff, I'm guessing we will choose a color that will go well with that stuff--maybe a green, light blue, cream, or light purple.

    8. Teaching or TAing. I'm doing my PhD and I love the part of my job that involves being in front of a classroom talking to students.

    9. We have lots of queer friends; not a whole lot of them are lesbian identified. Two of my best friends are trans guys and their partners are queer or dyke identified. I have a few other queer and genderqueer close friends. And M has a lot of gay boy friends. We have a few straight friends too.

    10. My mother is a published mystery writer (although she certainly doesn't make a living that way).

This is a photo from the first weekend trip M and I took together. We went to Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

    1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession? I have one very few photos of me with my grandpa, even though he passed away after I was 8.  There's one photo in my living and I love it.  My grandpa was (and still is) incredibly important to me.  Just thinking about how much it means to me makes me tear up.

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it! We don't have any real vacations planned as of right now.  We are going back home to the other side of the state in a couple weekends for a friends wedding if that counts :)

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J). I couldn't name them at all.  I'm with @KH, it makes me sad that I wouldn't get to see them again and I wouldn't want to give them a name B and I like.

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night? Ham sandwich.  I was dead tired and starting to feel sick and even though B worked 12 hours at school yesterday she came home and made me a quick dinner.  :)  I'm a lucky girl :)

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside). Boobs.  I have smaller boobs that only got smaller after I was done breastfeeding.  I don't want anything huge, but fitting into shirts correctly would be nice !

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are…. There are tons of parks.  We get all 4 seasons. We are close to B's family who I love. (which can be a blessing and a curse!)

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery? We've had to move a couple times since N was born 6 months ago.  Her first nursery was teal and pink with white polka dots.  Her current nursery is tan walls (apartment living!) and no decorations yet.  We are closing on our house on the 30th of this month and are talking about a grey and light pink nursery there.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job? The hours and the flexibility!  My job is really great when I have to run to daycare or to an appointment.

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends? B has a couple that she knows and one we hang out with together, but we don't know many other lesbian couples.  I wish we did.  We live in Wisconsin by the Minnesota border if there are any local bumpies :)

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit).  B and I are both scared of the dark.  It makes turning off the lights at night a fun task lol ;)  We literally have nightlights in EVERY room of our little apartment!

  • 1. I would say my family pictures from growing up. I also have pictures of my mom and dad as children and young adults. I should really digitalize (did I just make up that word?) someday.

    2. It's not a sure thing, but I hope we can take a trip to Vancouver in May. A bunch of our running buddies are going to participate in the full or half marathon and we're trying to make it happen. And maybe a side trip to Northern California to get legally wed.

    3. Oh geez. Micah and Aspen. Names I like, but Z would never go for. And, truthfully, I don't know if I could pull the trigger on Aspen.

    4. Leftover veggie pasta with fake chicken.

    5. I struggle with unwanted facial hair. Blah. I've had laser hair removal and it didn't work that well for me. Boo.

    6. I love Austin because it inspires an active and healthy lifestyle, is progressive and GLBT-friendly, and is quirky and weird and fun. The ONLY downside in my book is the heat.

    7. Light grey. I'm kinda obsessed with grey. Loving our nursery so far. Can't wait to finish it up and post pics!

    8. Im passionate about my agency's mission - to protect children in out of home care. This includes day care and resudential care, which is primarily children in the foster care system. How cool is that?

    9. Not a lot. We have very good friends who are a lesbian couple - they actually introduced Z and me. They have been together a month or two longer than us. They are the only ones nearby that we are close to, although we have lots of lesbian acquaintances. I definitely want to meet more lesbians with children so that our son will be exposed to other families that look like his.

    10. My undergraduate degree is in Management Information Systems and my master's is in Women's Studies.
    :-?

PIP: we were showing my MIL pics of our trip to NYC last night and it made me nostalgic. Love this pic of Z in the lower east side. image

  • 1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession?

A letter from my dad that he wrote before he passed away. My dad and I weren't very close and him and my mom divorced very early in my life, but it is something that I will always have to remember him by.

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it!

We are going to my Alma Mater for Homecoming at the end of     October. It has become quite the tradition and we are looking forward to going to the big cider mill, and visiting my sorority house, and lounging at the casino and pool.

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J)

Molly (because K will never let me name our kid that)

Maureen (after my grandma, I don't think it's a name we'll ever use)

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night?

A cabbage stew thingy I found on Facebook and we had all of the stuff to make it. It was ok...nothing spectacular.

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside)

    Definitely my weight.

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….

Four seasons, cider mills, our families being here

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery?

Not sure yet...we haven't really deeply thought about it yet.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job?

    Working from home, hands down!

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?

My aunts are lesbians :), but really we have one other lesbian couple we hang out with, but all of our friends are very LGBT friendly

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)

    I didn't learn to ride a bike until I was 10 :-O

  • 2Mamaz writes the hardest damn GTKY questions!

    1. Oh God...I am one of those terrible people who loves "things" so this is a hard one. I inherited a number of items from my mother and grandmothers that have a lot of sentimental value to me...from some pieces of jewelry to a Santa Claus cookie plate that was given to my mother when she was a baby (which we always used for Santa's cookies on Christmas Eve) to a little carved wooden calico cat with a saucer of milk that was always in my grandmother's kitchen (our last cat was calico). I do love my engagement ring, and a black pearl necklace my wife bought me when we were on our honeymoon in Kauai.

    2. We have a week off in November and it's our annual trip to visit the ILs in NJ. I get along great with my ILs and they are excellent hosts, but there's not a whole lot to do in their area that time of year, so we need to get creative. Last year we did an overnight trip to Philly (I love Philly too, KH!) and this time we might spend one night/two days in NYC. I was hoping to go to Ellis Island, but it's still closed while they clean up Hurricane Sandy damage.

    3. I'd pick some of the names I love that my wife won't let me use, but there are a lot in that category so I'm not sure which ones I'd choose! Ezra and Geneva?

    4. I went to my friend's house to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with her. She made brisket, kasha, cholent, roasted beets and sweet potatoes, and kale. And we had challah, apples and honey, and honey cake as well.

    5. I'm with KH, I'd love to get rid of some of my excess skin from weight loss. My arms aren't great, but my boobs didn't survive weight loss so well either. Of course I'd do this post-pregnancy!

    6. Personality (Boston is very intellectual), history, and proximity to my family and friends. I also love that we have different seasons.

    7. Not sure yet. The room we'll be using as a nursery currently has wallpaper in it and the walls would need to be refinished if we wanted to paint them. So if I can find a cute, reasonably-priced wallpaper that's not too babyish (I'd like to keep it up there for a while), we'll go with that. I saw one I loved that was navy blue with silver stars, but I think it would be too dark.

    8. That I get to use my brain and never know exactly what I'll be doing next.

    9. I went to a women's college so I have lots of friends from college who are queer, but the local group of people we hang out with on a regular basis are all straight. They're fantastic friends so I could care less!

    10. My family has been in the U.S. since 1632.

I don't know how to PIP from my phone but I'm loving the other PIPs!

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it! Not sure, maybe back to Roatan in the winter.  I'd also love to go to Europe, but that is likely further away...

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J): Tristan and Violet (Tristan because EV won't let me name our kid that - I agree its a little "flowery", Violet may end up a middle name for our daughter one day).

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night? Homemade Delicious Tacos made by my friends boyfriend

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside) Honestly my weight, I would love to "wish" 50lbs off...

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are…. Weather, People and being near the ocean

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery? We left it beige, next time I don't know.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job? I love staying home with Kaden and watching him grow and change everyday.

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends? Yes, I love having a great community.

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit) I'm afraid of sharks, so though I love snorkeling and diving I always have to combat my internal fear...  :-)

  • 1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession?

I don't really know.  I don't really possess, but Heals, our dog, and my cat are my most valued things in life...  And my sister and brother.   As for possessions -- I'm attached to my possessions in that I feel violated if they are disrespected, but that has less to do with the stuff than my own boundaries....   I really do love my giant, super heavy pine roll-top desk though.  That thing is a beaut!

    2.

When is your next vacation? Tell us about it!
I don't know!  I get a week off so we can move at the end of the month, but that doesn't really count.  Then we're off to a wedding in November.  That doesn't count too much either.   I'm hoping for a vacation somewhere fun and relaxing and hot this year though!

    3.

If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J)
Do I like this stranger?   Assuming I do I would name them Liam and Allegra.  Those are both guilty pleasure names of mine that I couldn't use on our kids.

    4.

What did you have for dinner last night?
    A cheeseburger & fries with a friend.

    5.

If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside)
I am trying hard to have good fat politics, and succeeding in some ways - but I would probably change the tendency I have to put on weight in my face & neck.  It drives me nuts!
    6.

Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….
The green space, the low-key aspect of our neighbourhood, proximity to work and friends.

    7.

What color will you/did you paint the nursery?
I don't know if we will paint or make a nursery.  It really depends on what is going on for us and where we're living when we get a take home baby.   I'm a big fan of the Montessori floor bed idea though so I imagine we'll do a bit of decorating and arranging to make space for a little one.

    8.

What is your favorite thing about your job?
I like being useful, competent, and using my skills & experience to help students.   I also really love that it's a casual environment.

    9.

Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?
We have lots of queer friends of all sorts of flavours.

    10.

Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)
I'm left handed.   And my office is a constant battle to keep clean.

So. Much. Fun.  Hopefully I won't be able to partake in the festivities this year but DP and I already agreed that I'll be staying at the spa if I'm preggo by then.

    Do you live in WI?

Nope!  Just a very, very big fan of the state.  I know that sounds weird but when DP and I lived in Chicago, it was our haven away from the stress and chaos of our everyday lives.  People are so friendly there, the beer and food are amazing, and I just love the Dells even if it is kind of cheesy.  We go up there at least once a year.  We're from Indiana.

    Hi all!

My work day is never-ending tomorrow, so posting these tonight! Have at it!

    1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession? My wedding ring. Hands down.

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it! In Mid-October We are going on a mushroom hunting weekend at https://breitenbush.com/ (re: hippie) retreat place in the woods in Oregon. J is not excited about seeing naked man bits at the hot springs, or having no cell or internet. Or booze. Normally I'd be the one freaking out about that, but it sounds *lovely* to me right now!!! And, oh, the crazy amazing mushrooms!!

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J) Ok, I asked this question poorly. I will revise next week: The idea was to have your guilty pleasure names, OR be able to use "your" names since they aren't people in your life. Like, you won a contest to name some twins! Anyhow, my guilty pleasures (two of them anyhow) are names J won't allow: Petra and Douglas.

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night? We went to our fave Mexican joint for happy hour which ended up being dinner: Chipotle Chicken with some salad (and a Skinny Margarita).

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside) Ok, if you've read Brave New World, the scene where the character forgets to immunize a future human on the assembly line and that's the first person to have that disorder in 100 years or something? Well - they skipped me when doling out decent metabolisms. I would like one, please. Once J and I went to Europe for 3 weeks, we ate and drank freely, walked everywhere - she took in more calories than me due to her alcohols of choice - and she gained 3 lbs when we got home. I gained 14. Eff me.

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….

The people/culture, the landscape (mountains and water), and ....the weather. :)

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery?

We're going to do a crazy yellow on one wall and light blue for the rest. Theme will be stars and moons! Assuming it happens.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job?

Flexibility, working with mostly super smart people, and opportunity! (The pay isn't bad either if I'm honest).

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?

We really don't. I think I have 2 maybe? J has lots of customers at her shop - I guess I've never seen people that way or identified hugely with having/needing gay friends, though we always wish we could find some other couples we liked. We do, they just are straight :)

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)

I grew up living above a funeral home (ala 6 feet under) - my dad was a funeral director.

BONUS: PIP us something, anything! This is us this weekend at the Bumbershoot Music Festival in Seattle! We were having fun at the beer garden (me with wine, J with "her drink" - vodka-soda-lime). Not my most flattering angle, alas...

  • 1.      As long as my two dogs Oliver and Xander are safe I will be happy.  I really don't have any possessions that aren't replaceable.

    2.      My best friend offered to take me to Cancun for my 29th birthday.  I haven't decided if I am going to go or not because R and I are ready to start trying to make a family and I don't yet know how realistic traveling will work into the entire process.

    3.     So I have always loved the name Tabatha... But I think I would probably name them Summer and August.

    4.      I had homemade lentil soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, it is finally getting chilly enough for soup weather and I love making homemade soups.

    5.     I would probably want a more defined stomach/abs.

    6.     Fall! It is beautiful in MA in the fall, how close I live to work, and having my family all close by.

    7.      Something gender neutral.

    8.      I love that it is stress free and that I am not sitting behind a desk all day.

    9.      I actually don't have any lesbian friends although all my friends love that I am a lesbian.

    10.   Last Friday I cut off 12 inches of my hair to donate it to locks of love.

Sorry I don't know why it formatted my text like it did.

  • 1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession?

I would have to say my wedding rings.  They are priceless and irreplaceable

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it!

We want to plan a honeymoon since we never had one, but life keeps getting in the way.  So I have no idea the next vacation we are going to go on

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J)hmm, not sure on this one

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night?

Pizza.  We usually go up to the bar my sister works at on Fridays, they have free pizza.

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside)

I would like to have nicer teeth.  Mine are just a little crooked and could use a good whitening

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….

I love Fall, most of my friends and family live nearby and I love the fact that we have seasons even though I complain all thru the winter

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery?

It will probably be a gender neutral color or theme.  We will most likely have our own children and foster children in the same room.  So we don't want just one theme or gender specific

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love working with kids and getting to do fun stuff and getting paid for it

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?

I think we have quite a few.  We do have the 'lesbian lounge', haha.  But we have a few close friends and a couple of them are lesbians

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)

I am scared of balloons.  I HATE THEM! And being around them has been known to throw me into a panic attack

This is a picture of my wife and I at my moms wedding.  I think its a really funny picture and our facial expressions are priceless.image

  • 1.      What is your most prized/loved/valued possession?

    My wedding ring.

    2.      When is your next vacation? Tell us about it!

My wife and I just took a 6 day hiking/camping trip and we hope to get back on the trail ASAP. We will likely head North again to look at the fall colors for our second anniversary in October.

    3.      If a stranger had boy/girl twins TODAY and gave you the naming rights, what would you name them? (You’ll never see them again, and they live far away J)

    I couldn't do it!

    4.      What did you have for dinner last night?

We went to a local Mexican place and had a vegetarian meal. It consisted of beans and cheese and wasn't great, so basically, we ate chips and salsa.

    5.      If you could change one physical trait, what would it be? (fertility aside)

Definitely, without a doubt, I would get rid of the extra hair from the PCOS. No question.

    6.      Top 3 things that make you love where you live are….

    (1) We only have one neighbor and she is never home. (2) We are in the Country, so there is rarely traffic. (3) We are in a State that contains all 4 seasons and it is awesome.

    7.      What color will you/did you paint the nursery?

We hope to do a gender neutral theme, probably something with Elephants and Owls, but we're not entirely sure yet.

    8.      What is your favorite thing about your job?

I work from home and make my own hours. As long as I average 40 hours per week, I can work 60 one week and 20 another. No commute and no micromanaging.

    9.      Do you have lots of other lesbian friends?

I did. I had a ton of lesbian friends before I left one of the bigger cities. Everyone is moving on and we're all still friends, but rarely get together any more.

    10.   Tell us something we don’t know about you (random tidbit)

If I could go back and change my decision abut going to law school, I would. I want to become a counselor. I strongly believe that I would be incredible at it.

    BONUS: PIP us something, anything!

A picture from one of the places we hiked this past week. The pictures are gorgeous, but honestly, they can't do the actual scenery any justice. Absolutely stunning.

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
