Blurry vision

27 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden having cloudy vision. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's not high blood pressure or low blood pressure and there's no protein in my urine ( went to the doctors today) :) but this blurry vision just started happening this evening!

Re: Blurry vision

  • My friend who is an optometrist said vision changes happen because of extra fluid which also builds up in the eye. Or something like that, but normal and common. Basically like your prescription gets worse. If it gets so bad you can't drive then update your prescription; but it usually goes back to normal or evens out after birth.

If things look white or weird though, have eye doc check it.

  • Thank you. But I don't even wear contacts or glasses so that's why it kind of freaked me out.
  • I get ocular migraines during pregnancy that cause vision issues. It scared the crap out of me when it first happened, because I'd never experienced anything like that before. No headaches, just blurry distorted vision with aura. After an MRI and a night in L&D, I was told there was nothing to be concerned about. I'd still mention it to your OB though, to be on the safe side.

  • I wear contacts and just had my eyes check before I got pregnant. I noticed the other day I couldn't see. Road signs while driving until I was super close. The blurry vision goes in and out.

  • I need a new prescription. I can't see shit during the past three to four weeks. I'm going to the eye doctor late next week.

  • I knew after I had my son that I needed a new prescription I am near sided in one eye and far sided in the other it's weird . But eyes definately change after having a baby
  • Or during pregnancy. I don't get it...I really don't .
  • This is a very common issue during pregnancy.  Vision starts changing for some people sometime after the 3rd month.  It happened with my first.  I'm not sure if it's happening again though.  No point in getting your eyes checked though, because it could change again once you have the baby.  I'd only go to an eye doctor if you really can't see at all.
