Intro - amnio tomorrow, vomiting butterflies in my stomach *****UPDATE

Formerly known as ShannonMB1974 I am now 1974SMB - had to reload the app and of course I forgot my password and which email addy I used so after many four letter words I just came up with a new one.

Got my first trimester screening results today and it was recommended I go for an amnio (scheduled tomorrow). 1 in 24 for DS. Trying to keep it together. Have so far cheered myself with a platter of fries and gravy at local chippy and have eaten an entire Ritter Sport Bar. So now I'm nervous and nauseous. Think happy thoughts for me please :)

Got call from OB's office - test results normal!

Of course in my excitement I realized when I hung up the phone I didn't ask what the sex was but you know what, I don't care! Well actually I do but I can wait until tomorrow AM to call back.

Anyway - just waiting for shoulders to come back down to their usual place as they've been up by my ears since Tuesday AM. Thanks again for the support ladies xx

    I had an amnio with my first pregnancy, and while the needle looks big and scary, it's really over very quickly and I had no side effects.  Good luck!

    Thank you! I'm going to have to close my eyes for that - can't look at needles. I can handle being tattooed but needles scare me - figure that one out.

    Good Luck!! I had an amnio with DS and I am terrified of needles.  Was just as nervous as you are and everything was very smoothly.  I actually felt no pain at all when they inserted the needle, procedure was not long at all and I may have felt a tiny bit of burning but overall It was not as bad as I had imagined.  Think positive thoughts & Good Luck again!!!

    Good luck!  I have a friend who had an amnio like a month ago and she said it really wasn't painful.

    Hugs! I had one last pregnancy and like PP said it doesn't feel bad. I was able to see a screen of baby the whole time and I just watched that. As for the risk, try to breath. There's a 23/24 chance baby is fine! Keep us posted!

    Will do - at home chilling now. It stung like hell and I've got some cramping but so far so good. Going to take a nap now as I'm lucky if I got 3 hours of sleep last night!
