Does anyone mind posting their schedule for their LO? I know not every schedule works for all households but I am needing inspiration for a sense of order. Thanks in advance.
OaD August siggy challenge- fav show that's off the air:
During the day I wake her every 3-4 hours to eat. She usually falls back to sleep while eating. At night I feed on demand, usually every 3 hours from the start of a feed.
I don't put my kids on schedules. I respond to their needs. DD1 eventually fell into her own, predictable routine.
Not really a set in stone schedule. But we wake up around 7 am and I feed LO every two hours then around 7:30/8ish we get ready for bed and LO sleeps pretty good throughout the night. We will get one 6 hour stretch and then a three hour stretch, then we are up for the day and we start all over
We don't have too much of a routine except for feeding... During the day it's every three hours... During the night it's on demand (usually twice an evening).
I don't have a set schedule but LO is starting to create a semi consistent day. She's still sleeping a lot through the day right now. Feeding times below vary... We get up for the day bt 6-7, feed/get dressed then she goes back to sleep in her swing while I get breakfast. I wake her every 3 hours during the day right now. At the 9 or 12 o'clock feeding she usually stays awake for an hour after so we do tummy time/bath/go outside or for a walk then. After the 3pm feeding I try to take a nap with her. After the 9pm feeding we go up to our room to settle in for the night. Once she is down I feed on demand through the night. DH goes back to work next week so this is all sure to change then
Well, it sounds like I am doing what everyone else is... So, how do you fit in cleaning the house and every thing else? I usually have enough time to pick up some trash, a load of laundry and maybe a load in the dish washer. I feel a bit overwhelmed. (:| :P
OaD August siggy challenge- fav show that's off the air:
The thought of setting a schedule at 4 weeks is stressing me out.
She consistently goes to bed between 8 and 9 and usually does a 3-4 hour stretch, one more MOTN feeding, then one in the morning 6-7. Though last night she decided to wake me at 12, 2, 3:30, and 5:30. I was not feeling that lol. She does seem a little cranky today though.
During the day, he eats every 3 hours. After 9 pm, we let him decide when he is eating, but don't let him go past 5 hrs (as recommended by his pedi). Our best nights, after he goes down from his 9pm feeding, he has slept until 2am, and then slept until 6am when we continue with the every 3 hrs during the day.
Its really whatever LO wants. Some days are easier than others.
This, she seems to be predictable for a few data then it changes or shifts really. Right now she naps for 2 hours between feedings. We have 2 fussy periods a day. One short one mid morning and a long one before bed. She wakes me up one or 2 times at night but I don't check the time.
I clean in mini bursts whole holding or wearing LO. I'm getting pretty good at one handed prep of food and cleaning. Nothing happens regular and my house is a mess but I'm fine with that. I do laundry once a week at my parents cuz i dont have a w&d and they help fold if I'm busy
Much the same as everyone else, I'm on the baby feeding schedule. I do have a pattern I follow still as DS1 is on a pretty regular schedule (up at 7, nap at 11, lunch, bed at 7-8). As far as chores, I sat down and made a list of the stuff that HAS to get done (laundry, clean floors...), and the stuff I would LIKE to get done (clean baseboards, organize pantry & fridge). I then assign 1 or 2 of the must-do items per day of the week and maybe one of the "nice to do items" for the entire week. I also always give myself one day per week where I have nothing to do so I get a break, or so I can catch up if I slacked one day. I don't like to spend too much time cleaning, maybe 45 min/day tops. Breaking it down into smaller manageable tasks has definitely made me feel less overwhelmed. And if I slack on a chore one week, I know I can make it a priority next week and not worry about it.

When the girls are sleeping or otherwise content. With DD1 I had to BW in order to get anything done. So far DD2 is a little more chill and will just hang out while I get stuff done.
We EBF and, although I am a firm believer in routines and schedules a little later on, I don't really believe in them at this stage. I just follow DS's cues... Feed him when he's hungry, put him down when he's tired, and mix a little activity in there. I did this with DS1 and he fell into his own schedule before too long. I think trying to force a set schedule on LO only stresses both of you out! I do things here and there throughout the day when LO is sleeping, in the bouncy seat/swing etc, or I'll throw him in the ergo and vacuum/mop/do dishes/fold laundry etc.
LO has sort of set his own routine... We really just follow his queues but he's become sort of predictable.
During the day he eats every 3 hours. He's been more awake now so usually only takes 2 long naps, sometimes a 3rd shorter nap between feedings.
We give him his last feeding and are done around 10:30. We head to our room and are all settled by 11. He wakes up around 4-5AM and again around 7-8AM. We try to nap in the AM but he's wide awake by 10 most days.
I don't think when they're this young you can realistically set a schedule, but she seems to have worked out her own (although it changes on occasion). We typically wake up anywhere between 8 and 9 and I immediately feed and change her, then she gets tummy time while I make breakfast. She eats about every 3 hours and if she's not feeding she's either swinging, napping, or I'm wearing her around the house. I get work done when she's in her swing or in the carrier, although with her in the carrier I'm more limited to what I can do. I have been trying to make an effort to nap when she takes her longer afternoon nap lately. Her "fussy period" is around 7-8 at night so during that time I don't even make plans to do anything other than hold her and bounce her around. She gets a bath around 9 when DH gets home and I feed her one last time for the night before we start her bedtime routine, which includes a little rubdown, rocking, and swaddling. She's usually asleep by 10:30 and she won't wake up hungry until after 3 and again around 6.
Well, it sounds like I am doing what everyone else is... So, how do you fit in cleaning the house and every thing else? I usually have enough time to pick up some trash, a load of laundry and maybe a load in the dish washer. I feel a bit overwhelmed. (:| :P
What is this cleaning thing you speak of?
I do laundry after her early morning feeding, while MH is getting ready for work. That way, if she's still awake, he can keep an eye on her. Ef folding anything.
I do dishes when we have company over. They sit in our living room holding her, I load and unload the dishwasher. We have an open floor plan, so I can still converse and keep an eye on her. If I'm caught up on dishes, I sweep the floor.
My bathrooms are in desperate need of attention, but I don't have the time, energy, or will power to give them the good scrub down they need. They will just have to wait!
Whatever she wants. She runs the show. We are only a week in but I pick up when DH holds her and he takes the dishes. My mom is coming tomorrow so I will pass the cleaning to her. Probably use the ring sling once my mom leaves to get cleaning done.

Ha! My daughter laughs in the face of a schedule/routine and she is 6 weeks old.
I just feed her when she's hungry, let her sleep when she wants, and play when she's awake. Sometimes she wants to eat every 90 minutes, sometimes she'll go three hours between meals. Some days she sleeps all the time, some days she won't stay asleep for more than 15 min. We normally do go to bed around 9 and she wakes up for the day around 6 or 7am.
Sometimes, we go for a mid-morning car ride, sometimes we go for an afternoon walk. It really depends on her mood, though.
She also gets a full bath on Thursdays and Sundays, but sponge baths whenever she needs it.
LO is 2 weeks old and feeds on demand, just about every 2 hours. At night sometimes he will go longer but not always. I'm exhausted, house is a mess. It does get easier, right??
Oh and regarding cleaning, honestly, I can sometimes do a load of laundry or dishes each day (while she's in the carrier). For actual cleaning (scrubbing bathrooms, dusting, mopping the floors) we have a cleaner who comes every other week.
We hired her when I was pregnant and too large to get much done. With DH's 80 hour work weeks, it's the only way our house can stay somewhat clean right now. I highly recommend it to anyone who can afford it, even if it's just for the newborn stage.
Our LO is 3.5 weeks old and we definitely don't have a schedule. He feeds every 1.5-2 hours, so in regards to waking up for the day and going to sleep for the night? Yeah... Right. In regards to cleaning, my mom told me that you will never look back on this time and think "I wish I done the dishes or vacuumed more," but you will regret not spending the time with your LO. So, screw the chores, you have more important things to worry about now.
A schedule really doesn't apply at this age, for the most part. I think around 3 months is when you get more of a routine.
On a side note, I'm really jealous of all you people getting 6 hour stretches at night! We are lucky if we get 3.5!

This. Only my LO is only a week old. Right now, we are waking her during the day every 2 hours to eat. My nurses said that we go from start to start, so by the time I'm done nursing and burping and changing, it seems like I have an hour in between feedings. She seems to have her days and nights mixed up, and sleeps in the morning and is awake most of the night. She generally wakes up every 2 hours, sometimes every 3 hours to nurse, and then is awake and does not want to be left in her bassinet, so she will cry until we come get her. I'm exhausted and DH isn't sleeping much either, because he is trying to stay up so that I can get some sleep too.
The only "fixed" component in our schedule is if we are leaving home for errands or something we do it in the a.m. (this way if there is a meltdown, we can take another run at it in the p.m.) and in the p.m. we have a fun outside outing like the park, or hike, etc. but we have to have that because we have a toddler.
Instead of doing a schedule, I suggest setting goals. Right now the white board in my house says: Girls Up, Breakfast, Mommy's teeth brushed, Baths, etc. and I just mark things off as I get them done. But I have 2u2 which may have altered my expectations for the time being. Right now, I'm seriously like, "I'm a domestic goddess - I made dinner and unloaded the dishwasher! Bow down to me!"
I will work on a real schedule when DD2 is like 4-5 months old, usually they get themselves set by then anyway.
Oh and for those who have not seen it. Remember this:
Mother, O' Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth.
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due,
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek - peekaboo.
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew,
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo.
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow,
But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.

Wow almost out exact daily "schedule" except we're usually doing the bath/bedtime routine and feeding around 11 or 12. Oh and add in that between 7-11 she's usually pretty cranky and feeds every 1-2 hours.

We are in the same boat. Dd slept for almost 4 hours straight last night and I was on my knees thanking God!
We definitely don't have a schedule, I feed on demand. We tend to wake up around 8, get out of bed by 10 at the latest. (I feed him in bed after he wakes up) and then I try to get breakfast and if I'm lucky a quick shower but he is often really fussy around this time. Then we go for a walk or run errands, something where he is in his car seat because he loves that shit. Then the rest of the day is just feeding and watching tv or hanging out with family until bedtime, usually around 8 pm. I am lucky if I get 2 hour stretches of sleep.

We don't have a schedule, but my other kids and I have one. So I been trying hard to work in her feedings/naps with our running around.
After I put my other 2 in bed around 8, I swaddle her, she eats and goes to sleep. Wakes around 1am to eat, then up around 6am for the day. Get kids off to school. Until school is out, she runs the show. Then it's homework, soccer, gymnastics.
We are a very busy family and so far she's doing really well! (She's 3 weeks.)
