I don't normally ask, but if we could get some serious t&p's sent our way, we could really use them. My H lost his job yesterday. Basically, he was working as an assistant manager at our operations warehouse. His boss was embezzling, taking unnecessary time off, etc and, being the major corporation they are, decided to to an audit and "clean house" meaning his boss and everyone under him got fired. It's total bullshit, completely unfair, and we've been in a daze since last night trying to figure out just what the fuck we are going to do. As of right now, though, we really don't have the time to be pissed off or feel sorry for ourselves, as bills have to get paid and we are going to need to hit the ground running. I am hoping that this is a blessing in disguise and that he can find somewhere to work that values him and gives him the opportunities he deserves, which was definitely not the case with his old position. Until then it's going to be a major struggle.

That's terrible! I hope he finds something he absolutely loves. Hopefully you are right, and this is a blessing in disguise...when DH was laid off I panicked, but now he's in a better paying job doing something he actually enjoys.
Can you file for unemployment to keep you afloat until he finds something?

Thanks you guys. @eafogel we are going to see if the manager where he used to wait tables will take him back on to make ends meet while he looks for something more permanent. If that works out, it will pay a little more than unemployment would so we may not bother. If not, we'll definitely be taking advantage of it as well as other programs we've been paying into for years.

I am super sorry that happened to him. I would consult an attorney because if he was not involved in the unethical goings on, then he might have a case for unjust separation. I am not sure what your state laws are, but even if it's at-will employment, you still might have a case, especially if it is a large company. Most of the time if you present a lawsuit, they will settle because it is much cheaper for them.

We are thinking about you guys and please keep us posted if we can help in anyway.

He wasn't involved, but he and his co-asst. manager both knew about it and didn't say anything, which I guess is one of the reasons they got fired. Which IMO is still bullshit, because this company doesn't make it easy for you to go over anyone's head. I think they would have lost their jobs regardless honestly, it's just the way they do things. They let go everyone and start from scratch. His former boss had only been there for less than a year. Before that, his old boss got fired and H is surprised that he survived that.

I feel terrible for my H, as this company set him up for failure. He had to work under two horrible bosses who didn't train him sufficiently. If they had, he would have been running the place a long time ago and none of this would have happened. Bah.
