My daughter was just diagnosed with a yeast infection. Her pediatrician prescribed an antifungal cream that we put on once a day at night and said not to use any other ointments on her (e.g., desitin, triple paste, etc) as that can worsen the yeast infection. Last night we used the prescribed cream after her bath and she seems so red and irritated today. It's seems odd to not use anything else. Besides feeding her yogurt, is there anything else I can do to speed up the healing process or soothe her poor skin?

We have also done a bath with Baking Soda sprinkled in the water. Let her soak for a bit. The baking soda does wonders. Used with the combination of the anti-fungal, desitin, and aquafor (per our pedi - equal parts), usually healed up within a day or two.
