I think a few others on this board are using this theme for LO's first bday. What kind of food are you planning to serve? I'm planning on cupcakes & a hot chocolate bar, but so far haven't come up with meal ideas yet.
My sister did a sandwich bar, she had a few different meats, cheeses and some condiments. She had two george forman grills if people wanted a hot sandwich also. OH...she also had 2 soups and a chili, people loved it!!
I have a friend who did this theme and she did all white food. So...quesadillas, cheese and crackers, sugar cookies, popcorn, and I can't remember what else. Honestly, I think if I do end up doing it (or a party at all), I will make a huge pot of chili in the crockpot along w/some stuff to go w/it and call it a day. It's perfect for a cold day and it feeds a large number of guests. Kind of boring, but it's easy, so I'm going for it.
I'm leaning towards a similar idea, but doing like a 9:30/10 am party and serving breakfast/brunch. I'd do a crockpot egg/sausage casserole and maybe a french toast casserole.

I wouldn't have thought of doing that, but it's a great idea.

I can't function at that time, well enough to throw a party. I like the brunch idea though.
I think I've decided on sugar plum fairy. I plan on doing sugar cookies, chocolate covered fruit with "fairy dust" on them, cheese and crackers, either sloppy joes or chili, sherbet punch, and maybe a veggie tray.
We are doing a snow bunny theme, I'm doing the party from 2-5 so we're doing light "finger foods" instead of a full meal. I'll have a candy bar, popcorn bar, water, punch, hot chocolate and coffee. We might have small rabbit shapped sandwiches, using a cookie cutter to make the shapes.
Lol...my son is up at 5:45 at the LATEST. His 2nd birthday party was just last two weeks ago and was at 10am. Labor Day morning, both my kids were up and playing at 4am and I couldn't get them back down until 6:30 =/

Sounds like our little guy! If he sleeps until 6a it is a special treat for us! Lol. The early party is not a bad a idea actually...hadn't considered it but it would make sense bc DS is usually cranky & ready for a nap around lunch time....thanks!!
my husband wants to grill (probably will not be cold here at all) but i was just going to do pigs in a blanket or hot dogs and chili our family are far to picky eaters plus tons of strange diets on his side
