Trying to Get Pregnant

Dollar Store Pregnancy Tests

Hi ladies!

I'm new on this board and my husband and I are hoping to conceive baby #2 soon.  I was just wondering if any of you have had experiences with dollar store pregnancy tests, and what the general consensus is on their reliability.  The real ones are so pricey!

Thanks :)

Re: Dollar Store Pregnancy Tests

  • Since when is a dollar store test not a real test?

You're fine.  I meant that they are just as reliable as other tests.  I'm awesome with wording, too. :)

  • Haha gotcha @EllyD14.  Love your siggy btw.

  • Wondfos, dollar store tests and first response all measure 25 mlU/ml so they are just as sensitive.

  • I have a stash of them.  I've never had a positive pregnancy test, so I can't personally say or anything.  But a best friend of mine recently tested on a $1 test and it came up before others she used :)
  • I've used them and they've been reliable and sensitive. I now get mine from Early-Pregnancy-tests.com. If you sign up for emails there's always a code to use.

  • They are just as reliable at "name brand" HPT's.  I have a bunch sitting my nightstand waiting for me to use them this coming weekend! They are so much cheaper.  If I get a + on one of those, I would probably go get a FREP to confirm.

  • They have proved reliable for me and I would definitely recommend them if you plan on testing early rather than waiting it out.  I used them until I got a few squinters then confirmed with a FRER and then a digi because I'm crazy like that.

I've used them before and they worked just fine.  I have a stash of tests from Walmart that I found on sale for 88 cents each, too!  I'm all stocked up for awhile.  You should have seen the cashier's face when she saw that I had a basket full of pregnancy tests!  (I bought like 15 of them!)
  • Great reviews, thanks guys!  I just stocked up on Medi Care from Dollarama :)
