Gates and Potty Training

The gate discussion below got me wondering...if you gate or shut the door to your LO's bedroom at night, how does that impact potty training? I'm just curious. We're a long way from this issue just yet.

    Our dd would yell for me when she had to potty. This was when she was about 2 1/2. She did this for about a year and a half. Then, she would open her door, come to our room to tell me. Now she goes alone, but I have to tuck her back in.
