I'm getting a very early head start on planning DS's 4th birthday party. He has requested a dinosaur theme. I feel like at age 4 it would be fun to have some activities set up for the kids. I've come up with a list of ideas but I'm not sure how many I should actually incorporate. Here's the list:
- Dino dig. set up a kiddie pool with rocks/sand, kids will dig for bones.
- Dino egg hunt. I have a bunch of Easter eggs left over that I can hide in the yard with treats inside.
- Dino croquet. This is a toy that we already have. It's 3 dinosaur shapes that you hit the croquet ball through.
- Dino ring toss. Another toy we already have.
- Dino sun catcher. A craft table set up where each kid can paint a plastic dinosaur sun catcher to take home.
- Dino bean bag toss.
- Dino fossil making. Another craft idea. Kids can press a small dinosaur toy into clay to make a fossil.
So, how many activities do you think would be appropriate and which would you choose? There will be 5-6 four year olds. I can set up a lot in our yard or move it indoors if weather doesn't cooperate.
Re: How many activities at birthday party?
ditto. DS went to a party with a dino dig similar to what you mentioned and it was a big hit.
I had a craft as a backup thing at our bday party (it was at a local park) and only 1 kid did it out of 15!
