Holiday Question!!! How not to spill the beans!!

I am 6w 1d and we are going to the ILs for Rosh Hashana tomorrow (Happy New Year, Shana Tova to those who observe). I am dying to tell them the good news but DH really wants to wait until 12 weeks! Any advice on how to keep my mouth shut?

  • Tell if you want to tell. :) I tried to force myself to wait, but in the end, it feels good to get it out!!

  • Shana Tovah! No advice aside from the usual either fake drink or say you're sick or hungover. At least it's not Pesach with all that wine! ;)

  • good idea saying you're sick- maybe on antibiotics? ;) I've had so much trouble because I just get a huge grin when people ask. I find it kinda crazy that people out right ask, but they all just said they had dreams that I was pregnant or "just knew" when they saw me. Hopefully you can evade the female 6th sense :)
I don't know if I'm an expert though, I've told each person who asks! haha

  • It's amazing how many women have guessed in such a short time. The day I took the pregnancy test a friend who I hadn't seen in weeks texted me and said "Anything you want to tell me?"!! I didn't confirm but it was so crazy how she sensed it. Maybe my ILs already know somehow...
  • Shana tova! Jewish women always know. What is more important is what to do if they ask... lie or fess!

  • No advice here. Just wanted to say Shana tova to my Jewish friends. I guess I would fib a little and say I was getting over something and try to lay low. Good luck!
  • L"shana tova... I had 2 baby sips of wine last night...we will tell everyone at Yom Kippur next week!
  • I'm 6w 3d and this is my second pregnancy and I think I'm more excited with this one (the first I was more nervous).  I have my first doctor's appointment next week and I think I'm going to tell after that.  My husband and I are about to burst and of course every time someone looks at me I think they know something's up.
  • Have a sweet new year! Looking forward to NOT having to fast next saturday :)
