Middle of the night nursing/pumping

Good morning ladies. The last few nights, my son has been sleeping for longer stretches. A couple of nights he slept 7-8 hours. He is still in a pack n play in our bedroom until he is doing this consistently because his room is across the house and upstairs. The few nights he slept 7-8 hours, so did I.... And I paid for it the next few days! My milk supply decreased and he was nursing every hour and a half because he wasn't filling up from the nursing session before. My question is, should I wake him up to nurse in the middle of the night or should I try to pump without waking him so that I don't disturb his sleep cycle?

    My LO sleeps from 8-3 or 4. I pump at 11 and that is it. My boobs have regulated. I woke up for a few mornings soaked. But now I am fine. And my supply is fine the rest of the time

    Definitely don't wake him, you want him STTN and he might get confused if you wake him. If your daytime supply is probably not decreased it just hasn't met his new needs of eating more frequently during the day just keep nursing him and it should catch up in a few days. If it doesn't I would call a lactation specialist

    Like others have said don't do either. DD gets her last feed at 7:30 and then goes down for the night. For the last week she has been sleeping till anywhere between 4-6. I started pumping before I go to bed (usually around 10) and then can go till morning. While the first few nights I was really uncomfortable in the morning now I'm just very full. I do a morning pump when DD has her "up for the day" feed (7-8) and use that for building a stash. I haven't noticed any daytime supply issues so I would give it a day or two to regulate and then call a LC.

    My baby sleeps from 1030-11pm til 7am for weeks now. I usually wake up sometime between 3-5am engorged and pump it all out to throw in the freezer. Definitely getting a collection in the freezer now.

    A sleeps 10pm-5/6am. The first few nights were hard, I'd wake up soaked... and every once in a while, if she cluster feeds at night I still do. But I won't wake her to eat- she's never been good at that (she would suck a few times, turning me into Old Faithful! and then fall asleep again). I didn't notice a drop in supply with that either, I'd actually have a higher output at my am session. I use that to build my freezer stash.
