Itchy feet and hands

I had very itchy soles and hands during the night that it kept me up most of the night. Anyone experience this? I'm 35 weeks tomorrow...

I didn't experience this, but you should probably call your doctor - it could be cholestasis of pregnancy. It's rare, but severely itchy hands and feet in late pregnancy is the most common symptom.

Yes! I definitely experienced this! I researched that it was due to cholestasis. When I todl my Dr about it, he ordered some blood work for me. At the appointment that I mentioned the itching to him I received steroid shots as there was concern that I was going into PTL. Coincidentally, that helped amazingly! I had the girls 9 days later and didn't have to deal with that unbearable itching for too long. Best of luck to you. It made me insane!

Yes, please tell your doctor. I had cholestasis and this is how it started, but mine started earlier at around 28 weeks. It was miserable! Itchy hands and feet are the first symptoms. Your doctor can do a simple blood test to find out. My doctor was going to deliver at 37 weeks instead of 38 because of it, but I ended up having them at 35 weeks anyway.

I had horrible, awful itching throughout my pregnancy. Towards the end I had bloody spots on my hands and feet from scratching. But I had all the tests done and didn't have cholestasis - some women just get itchy during pregnancy. The only time I didn't itch was when I was bathing or swimming, I tried all the creams and nothing worked for me. A lot of people recommended Gold Bond Powder though, apparently it's a godsend.

Thank you for asking this question and to those who answered. I experienced this too and it seems to have tapered off over the past few days. I was going to forget about it but will now bring it up to my doctor.

Thanks all. I went for blood tests and all clear. Strangely the itching stopped last night!

This! My hands and feet itched like crazy but I didn't have cholestasis either. My dr said its just one of those normal quirks. Glad it stopped for you!!

My doc recommended a lotion called Sarna, and OMG it worked wonders, I had the same problem. You have to request behind the counter and its pricey but it was the ONLY thing that worked. Its very medicinal smelling fyi.
