  • I'm sorry you're going through that!  I did the Unisom + B6 combo when I was feeling yucky, but if you want to avoid meds that probably isn't the answer.

I found the lemonade popsicles at Target that were a lifesaver for me.  They were cold, not too sweet and not to sour, and just seemed to be the only thing that helped a bit.

    Good luck Mama!

  • I still throw up every day too - I have not tried the Zofran because I hate constipation more than puking :(  Hang in there - we are getting close to where it should subside!

  • I am trying to eat small amounts of whatever I think I can stomach. I've given up on dinner food. I'll have a few bowls of cereal. I'm better late morning/afternoon so I make sure I have some protein then. Jolly Ranchers help. So does ice cold water.

  • Oh! And distracting myself like crazy with bumping, bejeweled, mindless tv. Haha.

  • I am still so sick also, I am 12w4d, I do cry sometimes b/c being sick for weeks is so draining. I also am not taking meds but my midwife is giving me accupuncture and it helps for a few days.

I was the same way with my first pregnancy.  It was miserable.  I personally didn't like Zofran anyway.  I took it a few times and it gave me such bad headaches that throwing up was just better.  I ate small amounts of food all day long.  I kept some oyster crackers near and munched on them throughout the day.  This time around, I haven't thrown up much but been nauseous.  My OB recommended taking vitamin b6, so I take 50mg twice a day.  I think it's helped curb the nausea a lot.  Hope you start feeling better soon!

  • I thought I was one of the "fortunate" ones that felt nauseous, but didn't actually get sick. But- here I am, 11 weeks and 5 days, puking on my way to the office yesterday morning and today! I guess my M/S just decided to show up late??? Anyone else experience this?

  • Thanks ladies I just don't want to take any meds first tri everything is developing in there so I don't want to mess with anything. It's silly yes but I just don't want to. I will try the vit b6 but even small snacks don't seem to help. All day nausea sucks .
  • I've been getting sick since 5 1/2 weeks and was given Zoforan. At 13 weeks 3 days, I got sick again today!!! I'm trying to take no Zoforan but even if I take just one a day I notice a difference. It is pretty miserable!

Have you talked to your OB about this? There are lots of things still developing in the second tri as well.  I'm typically avoid meds when possible, but if I needed Zofran, you'd better believe I'd take it!  It's been around for a long time and so many pregnant women have used it that any serious issues would have already surfaced.

  • I take 8 mg Zofran everyday and I took it when pregnant with DS from 8 weeks until the night before I delivered. He is perfectly healthy. I understand not wanting to take meds, but meds are better than feeling like death everyday. Especially if you end up one of the unlucky ones who are sick the whole time. I hope you feel better soon!
